Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Dubrovnik, and honestly? Most of them are either tourist traps in the Old Town or generic chain hotels that could be anywhere. But Dubrovnik Oasis – well, it actually lives up to its name in a way that surprised me.
First thing you notice is the location on Josipa Kosora street in Lapad. I mean, Lapad gets overlooked by everyone rushing to the city walls, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re about a 15-minute bus ride from all the Game of Thrones madness, but when you come back in the evening, you’re in this quiet residential area where actual Croatians live. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM – the smell of fresh burek literally wakes you up if you leave your windows open. The hotel itself sits back from the main road, so you don’t get the constant hum of traffic that plagues so many places here.
What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to know the city, you know? Not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this tiny konoba down by the water where locals eat – place doesn’t even have a proper sign. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star, nothing revolutionary but everything works properly (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in Croatia). Clean lines, decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the Wi-Fi actually reaches the balcony. Speaking of which – if you can swing it, get a room facing the courtyard. It’s quieter, and there’s something really peaceful about having your morning coffee while listening to the birds instead of scooters.
The breakfast deserves a mention because they do this thing where they source from local suppliers, and you can taste the difference. Fresh figs when they’re in season, proper Croatian cheese that has some character to it, not the processed stuff you get at bigger hotels. I actually ended up chatting with the guy who runs the kitchen – turns out he worked in restaurants in the Old Town for years before coming here, and he was full of stories about celebrity guests and crazy tourist requests.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – they seem to get that not everyone wants to be entertained every second. There’s a pool area that’s genuinely relaxing, not some scene with loud music and kids running around. Perfect for those brutal July afternoons when even the locals hide indoors. The whole place just feels more… authentic, I guess? Like they’re not trying to be a Instagram-perfect resort, they’re just trying to be a really good hotel.
Only minor complaint – parking can be a bit tight during peak season, but honestly, that’s Dubrovnik for you. Book early or be prepared to walk a block or two. And if you’re planning to visit during summer, well, you probably already know how crazy this city gets. But coming back to Dubrovnik Oasis after a day of fighting crowds in the Old Town? It really does feel like an oasis. That 9.7 rating isn’t just people being generous – this place actually delivers on what it promises.

The apartment was very nice, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Everything was perfect and clean. The host, Petar, was very helpful and frendly. And of course big thanks for grandmother’s homemade liqueur and fruits.

Dubrovnik Oasis is an amazing apartment and location-wise it is the perfect place to use as a base to discover Dubrovnik and the Old-Town. The apartment was extremely clean, spacious and perfect for a family of 4. It had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay including free-parking which was great!
The owner was very flexible when arranging to meet up for the keys and generous in giving information and advice…all of which was very much appreciated…as was the local homemade wine! Thank you!
What could be improved: Nothing really that I can think of!
