Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Old Town Dubrovnik places, and honestly? Casa Nevia gets it right in ways that matter. The moment you walk through that heavy wooden door on Boškovićeva – which, by the way, is this narrow little street that most tourists rush past on their way to the main drag – you realize someone actually thought about what travelers need. The stone walls are thick enough that you don’t hear every conversation from Stradun, but you’re still close enough to grab morning coffee at that little place around the corner before the cruise ship crowds descend. I mean, we’re talking maybe a two-minute walk to all the action, but tucked away enough that you can actually sleep past sunrise without street performers waking you up.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to blend the old with the practical stuff you actually need. The rooms have this authentic medieval feel – exposed stone, wooden beams, the works – but the air conditioning actually works (trust me, you’ll need it in July), and the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I could mention. The bathrooms are small, sure, but that’s just Old Town reality when you’re dealing with 14th-century buildings. At least the water pressure is decent, and honestly, after a day of walking those polished limestone streets, a hot shower hits different. The staff genuinely knows the area too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find parking that won’t cost you 30 euros a day, which restaurants the locals actually eat at, and when to avoid certain areas because of wedding photo shoots or film crews.
You know what sealed it for me though? It’s the little things that show someone cares. Fresh flowers in the lobby that actually get changed, not those sad wilted things you see everywhere. The front desk keeps umbrellas you can borrow – and in a place where afternoon thunderstorms roll in from the Adriatic without warning, that’s not just thoughtful, it’s lifesaving. They also have this tiny courtyard where you can sit with a glass of wine in the evening, away from the dinner rush chaos on Prijeko Street. It’s nothing fancy, just a few tables and some greenery, but after spending the day shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists on the city walls, having a quiet spot to decompress is worth its weight in gold. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the stuff that actually matters when you’re exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful (and crowded) cities.

View from top floor bedroom, great shower, comfy beds, and everything that one needed for a stay. Comfy compact modern apartment with central location by Buza Gate.
What could be improved: Steep stairs which should have been shown in pictures. I didn't have a problem with them, but if you have big luggage, be prepared to carry up to steep narrow stairs to top floors. It would have been helpful to have a guide on how things work in apartment (i.e. wash machine, coffee machine, dishwasher, aircon) or where to take recycling /garage too. Also, the location of apartment is located on main steps into city, so be prepared for loads of people walking past. Once you move up the floors, the quieter it gets.Emily from United Kingdom – 17 April 2025 (9/10)
Property was excellent! Travelled as a family of 4 with 14 and 10 year old sons and it was perfect for us.
Host was very accommodating and Property was stocked with all the supplies we need for it to feel like a home from home! Bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival was a welcome touch too! Location is right in the centre of the old town.

This amazing house was in the perfect location in old town Dubrovnik. The house was lovely, clean, and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed and we were very comfortable as a group of 4 adults. The owner is so kind and very responsive! Would absolutely stay here again!! Highly recommend

We loved the location and how well equipped the house was. Really nice bathroom with toiletries provided. The coffee machine was very welcome, too. Air con was very effective, especially on very hot, humid nights in the city.
The hosts provided clear directions and were friendly in communications.
A special mention for the view of the city from the bedroom – it is amazing!
What could be improved: Avoid larger/heavy cases -Getting them up to the top bedrooms is a challenge!Jacqui from Ireland – 10 August 2024 (9/10)
