Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and this apartment on Ulica branitelja Dubrovnika really gets it right. The name’s a mouthful – “Dubrovnik Seaview apartment 10 min to the Old Town” – but honestly, that’s exactly what it delivers without any of the usual travel website BS. You walk out the door and there’s this genuinely gorgeous view of the Adriatic that hits different than those glimpses you get from the city walls with all the crowds. The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, you know? Not that sterile hotel room vibe where everything’s bolted down and smells like industrial cleaning products.

What really sold me was the location – it’s in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Stradun and all the main action, but far enough up the hill that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The walk down to the Old Town is actually pretty pleasant, mostly downhill obviously, though coming back up after a long day of sightseeing… well, let’s just say those Croatian wines hit harder when you’re climbing. But here’s the thing – you pass by some of those little neighborhood spots that tourists never find, like this tiny bakery that does incredible burek in the mornings. The locals there started recognizing me by day three, which never happens when you’re staying in the touristy areas.

The apartment itself punches above its weight for sure. I mean, a 9.4 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after staying there I get it. Everything just works – the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home, the shower actually has decent water pressure (huge deal in older Croatian buildings), and the kitchen’s set up like someone who cooks actually designed it. The seaview isn’t just marketing speak either; you can sit on the balcony with your morning coffee and watch the ferries heading out to the islands while the Old Town slowly wakes up below. During sunset, the whole scene turns golden and you’ll find yourself just sitting there longer than you planned. Only minor complaint? The street can get a bit noisy during the day with traffic heading toward the city center, but it dies down completely at night. Parking’s actually manageable too – there’s usually spots along the street, which is basically a miracle in Dubrovnik. If you’re coming during peak summer season though, book way ahead because places like this that actually deliver on their promises fill up fast.

  Most beautiful view of sea and garden with exceptional roses. Beautiful house and everything clean, comfortable with attention to detail. The host made are super welcome and looked after, responded immediately to any questions. Dubrovnik old town is within walking distance. It was just difficult to decide where to spend more time – in the garden or old city! Beautiful Dubrovnik and the beautiful host.

  What could be improved: The ONLY thing I'd change is that the road out front is kinda busy, but the view is insane and the pictures are 100% accurate. Really nice place, nice garden, and an easy walk (along the busy road with narrow sidewalks!) down to the Old Town. Hosts are amazing. Super responsive and helpful.

  Style and comfort. Very well appointed and the snacks and drinks were very much appreciated after a long days travel. The apartment is very spacious and very well appointed. The outdoor area was excellent; shaded and cool in the morning.
