Hotel Description

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first rolled up to Dubrovnik Summer Apartments on Kneza Domagoja street – I mean, the name sounds pretty generic, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into this quiet residential stretch in Lapad, which is exactly where you want to be if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights. The whole area feels like where actual Dubrovnik residents live, not just the touristy bubble around the Old Town.

The apartments themselves are solid – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean, which honestly is half the battle when you’re dealing with summer rentals in Croatia. What I really appreciated was how the owner (or maybe it was the manager?) actually took time to explain the bus routes into the city center. The number 6 bus stops basically right outside, and it’ll get you to Pile Gate in about fifteen minutes – though I’d budget twenty during peak season because, well, everyone’s trying to get to the Old Town at the same time. The apartment I stayed in had this little balcony that caught the morning sun perfectly, and you could hear the waves from Lapad Beach if you opened the windows at night. Speaking of the beach, it’s maybe a seven-minute walk down the hill, and it’s one of those rare spots where locals actually swim alongside tourists without it feeling weird or crowded.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the location gives you options. Sure, you can do the whole Dubrovnik experience with the city walls and Game of Thrones tours (and you should, honestly), but you can also just walk down to the little konoba on Šetalište Kralja Zvonimira for dinner and feel like you’re experiencing something a bit more authentic. The grocery store is right there too, which matters when you’re staying in an apartment and want to grab some of those Croatian pastries for breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. I will say the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in the evenings – probably everyone streaming Netflix at once – but during the day it was fine for checking maps and booking restaurant reservations. The 9.2 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

Reviews

  • Cosy Apartment with the best location in Lapad – Chandan from India – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

It has the best location closer to bus #6, super market, restaurant, and the sunset beach.
The studio apartment is neat, clean and sufficiently equipped overall.
It has a nice small balcony.
    The air conditioner works great!
The manager Ms Andrea was very helpful and was able to answer all of our questions. Appreciate her support greatly.

What could be improved: The kitchen oven knob doesn't have markings of heating levels prompting us to set in incorrect levels.
The wifi speed is too low less than 10mbps which is very very slow. Also the signal strength is poor.
Lack of a microwave makes anything to reheat quickly very painful.

  • Great little apartment – Marta from United Kingdom – 6 May 2025 (8/10)

Comfortable bed, powerful shower, Andrea was friendly and helpful, clean apartment, beautiful view.

What could be improved: I could hear people speaking quite loudly next door at 3.00 a.m. two days in the row. Quite loud fridge, but maybe I am just too sensitive to noise.

  • It was a nice stay in a nice location. – Christina from Ireland – 23 November 2024 (10/10)

Host gave us a lot of information. Day trips were available leaving from a point very close to the apartment. Restaurant downstairs. Shop across the road. Balcony. Small but compact apartment. Good price.

What could be improved: Double bed was only accessible from one side and didn't have a second lamp for reading.

  • Andrea is a wonderful host and advised us where to go and to purchase the three day bus tickets which allowed us to clim – Bernard from Ireland – 15 October 2024 (8/10)

Great location and easy to get to the old town.

  • Perfect place to stay in Dubrovnik and the best host ever met! – Peep from Estonia – 11 September 2024 (10/10)

I can point out only pros:
    * Very good location: close (within short walking distance) to beach, supermarket, bus stop to old city, picking up point for tour operators
    * Clean and spacious apartment with everything needed to stay there, incl. well equiped kitchen and even washing machine
    * Free parking is in front of the house
    * The host is very kind, caring, supporting and helpful, easy to communicate with her, she gave us very good recommendations about staying and acting in Dubrovnik

To sum up: great location, great value for money, and the most important – supergreat host!
So many thanks to Andrea for very warm and friendly welcome as well for caring, supporting and helpful attention while living there!

Certainly recommend to come here and enjoy hospitality and comfort.

  • Would love to go back there again. – Edgars from Latvia – 31 July 2024 (10/10)

Very convenient location in a quiet part of the city, everything was easily accessible by convenient public transport or on foot. The apartment is fully equipped for comfortable living. We spent a week there. The pick-up point for tour operators was close to the apartments.
Andrea, the very nice and responsive apartment manager, gave us all the information we needed about the city, sightseeing, restaurants, shopping opportunities, and organized a transfer from and to the airport.

What could be improved: Maybe sometimes the neighbors seemed noisy, but that's not unusual.

  • Great host! good location! – Eswar from United Kingdom – 24 July 2024 (10/10)

The host, Andrea was really helpful. She received us, helped us with all the necessary local information and even arranged us a return transfer to the airport. We had a rented car for some duration of our stay and we were able to use the parking space at the place. There is a very nice restaurant right below the property which is popular with the locals and is a good place to eat.

  • Exceptional – Roko from Croatia – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

Location, supermatket close, good connection to the old town

  • Peaceful lovely setting and close to the Marina. – Gillian from United Kingdom – 19 June 2024 (10/10)

Good location everything you need well equipped and Andrea was the perfect host

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • A wonderful 4 night stay. – Sarah from United Kingdom – 12 June 2024 (10/10)

Central to all amenities. Close to beach, shops and restaurants. Bus stop to old town less than 5 minute walk away. Clean and spacious apartment with everything needed. Even had a washing
    machine (with powder and softener).
Andrea, our host, was fabulous. Great communication and very helpful with her knowledge of the area. Advised us on how to get around and what places were worth a visit. We met Andrea in person in the last day when she allowed us to use an adjoining building to safely store our luggage. Would definitely recommend. We didn’t want to leave. A very comfortable stay.

What could be improved: No negative comments to make.
