You know what struck me first about the Exquisite Villa by Dominium? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street – Kunićeva ulica – that honestly feels like you’ve stepped into a medieval postcard. I mean, you’re literally staying inside Dubrovnik’s Old Town walls, which sounds touristy until you realize what that actually means. While everyone else is schlepping back to their hotels outside the city walls after dinner, you’re already home, listening to the evening church bells echo off ancient stone. The building itself has that perfectly weathered Dalmatian stone look that screams authenticity, but inside it’s been updated with all the modern touches you’d want – good WiFi, proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in July), and bathrooms that don’t feel like historical artifacts.

The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to experience Dubrovnik like a local rather than just another cruise ship passenger. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Stradun – that’s the main marble street everyone photographs – but far enough away that you won’t hear the morning tour groups gathering. I loved how you could slip out for coffee at one of the tiny cafés locals actually use, or grab fresh produce at the small market near Pile Gate before the crowds hit. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out – they pointed me toward this incredible konoba (that’s a traditional tavern) tucked behind the cathedral that I never would’ve found otherwise. Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik’s Old Town, so forget about driving here. But they’ll help arrange everything, and honestly, once you’re inside those walls, you won’t want to leave anyway.

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both special and livable at the same time. The rooms have these gorgeous original stone details – thick walls that keep things blissfully cool and quiet – but they’ve been thoughtfully modernized without losing that old-world charm. I actually slept better here than I have in months, maybe because there’s something deeply calming about being surrounded by all that history. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you experience the attention to detail firsthand. Little things like having a proper espresso machine in the room (none of that instant coffee nonsense) and quality linens that actually feel luxurious. Sure, it’s pricier than staying outside the walls, but you’re paying for an experience you literally can’t get anywhere else. When you wake up to the sound of seagulls and church bells instead of traffic, and you can wander out for a morning walk on 14th-century ramparts before most tourists even finish breakfast – well, that’s worth every kuna.

  Very nice apartment situated over 3 floors. Clean, with comfortable beds. 2 bathrooms with good showers. Modern appliances. Good communication with host. Great value for money. Good location within city walls.

  Superb location in the old town lovely accommodation in a historic authentic steep stepped street just off the main street. So atmospheric with every modern convenience to hand. Super clean with super comfy beds , fabulous bathroom with great walk in shower.
  Lovely owners kept us updated from booking to departure very professional in every way.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing at all – we found the steps a great challenge ! wouldn't be suitable for the unfit or elderly due to climb up several flights of steps

  Beautiful location in the old town , really modern in the inside , soft beds , constant hot water , washing machine and tumble dryer (absolutely necessary for a family with young kids ) , really good communication and guidance on how to get access to the accommodation

  Just had a wonderful 5 star stay in Dubrovnik in Exquisite Villa by Dominium. Apartment was in a great location, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Communication from Dominium staff from start to finish was excellent, thank you Korina. Our driver Zoran who took us to the airport was informative and engaging. Beautiful City and wonderful people, would highly recommend.

  the location was very convenient! we loved being in old town. The apartment was perfect for 6 people, probably a little roomier for 4 people but it met our needs.
  
  What could be improved: as a new traveler to the area, some warning about the amount of stairs to get to the villa would have been helpful. we ended up hiring a porter to carry our luggage on the way out, would probably have done the same on arrival had we had known.
