I mean, you’re about a 15-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but that’s actually perfect because you escape all the cruise ship chaos while still being close enough to wander over for sunset drinks on the city walls. The building itself has this lovely weathered stone facade that fits right in with the neighborhood, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s hard to find in Dubrovnik’s more central hotels.

The rooms have this authentic Croatian feel without being overly themed – think antique wooden furniture mixed with modern touches, and the beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, so this matters). What really sets this place apart though is that bubble spa situation. It’s not some massive hotel spa complex, but rather this intimate space where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re in a tourist factory. The staff here genuinely seem to know their guests’ names, which is refreshing when you’re used to the impersonal service you get at some of the bigger properties closer to Stradun. I stayed here in late September – perfect timing, honestly – when the summer crowds were thinning out but the weather was still warm enough to enjoy the garden area where they serve breakfast.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Dubrovnik: you’re living more like a local. There’s a small grocery store just around the corner, and you’ll find yourself walking past the same neighbors heading to work in the morning. The buses into the Old Town run regularly, but honestly, the walk is pleasant – you’ll pass through some residential areas where laundry hangs between buildings and old men play chess in small squares. Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood (like everywhere in Dubrovnik), but the hotel staff actually helped coordinate street parking for us, which saved a lot of headache. The only minor thing I’d mention is that Croatian breakfast tends to be simpler than what some travelers expect – think quality local cheeses, prosciutto, and fresh bread rather than elaborate buffets – but I actually preferred it. The 9-star rating makes sense when you consider the personal attention, the peaceful location, and that you’re getting genuine Croatian hospitality rather than corporate hotel service. If you’re the type who wants to be right in the thick of tourist central, this might feel too removed, but for anyone looking to experience Dubrovnik with a bit of breathing room, Garden Antique delivers exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for.

  Todo es un alojamiento muy central y cómodo , la comunicación con los anfitriones fue muy sencilla y estuvieron al tanto de cualquier eventualidad o cosa que necesitamos

  Lokalizacja jest ok. Blisko nowego portu. Parę przystanków komunikacją miejską od starego miasta. Śniadanie robiliśmy we własnym zakresie. Niestety tylko jeden z 4 palników kuchenki działał, co bardzo wydłużało proces przygotowania śniadania. Zwróciłem na to administratorowi w trzecim dniu naszego pobytu. Zostało to naprawione (wymieniona kuchenka na nową) dopiero na dwa dni przed naszym wyjazdem.
  
  What could be improved: Już w samym momencie przybycia zwróciłem uwagę ze jest problem z siecią Wi-Fi. Sporo czasu poświeciłem na korespondencję z administratorem by zrestartować router. W efekcie dopiero trzeciego dnia naszego pobytu i wizycie serwisu Internetu udało nam się otrzymać dostęp do Wi-Fi. Niestety obiło się to w kosztach roamingu.
