This isn’t one of those cookie-cutter hotel rooms near the Old Town where you can hear every tourist stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street where you’ll hear locals chatting on their balconies in the evening, and the only real noise is the occasional city bus heading toward the peninsula.

The kitchen is what sold me, honestly. Not just because it’s actually functional (I’m looking at you, every other “kitchenette” I’ve stayed in), but because there’s this little market about a three-minute walk down the street where locals shop. You can grab fresh bread in the morning, maybe some of that Croatian cheese that’s way too good for its own good, and actually live like a person instead of eating hotel breakfast every day. The space itself feels like someone’s actual home – which I guess it sort of is? There are these small touches, like proper wine glasses and a coffee maker that doesn’t look like it came from 1987. The living area has this comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you want to actually hang out there instead of just crashing after a day of sightseeing.

What really got me was the location situation. Lapad isn’t where first-time visitors usually end up – most people beeline straight for accommodations near Stradun or the city walls. But here’s the thing: you’re maybe a 15-minute bus ride from the Old Town (the 6 line runs pretty regularly), and you’re literally walking distance from some of the best beaches that aren’t completely overrun with cruise ship crowds. Lapad Bay is right there, and honestly, after spending a morning getting elbowed by tourists taking selfies at the Rector’s Palace, coming back to this quiet neighborhood feels like discovering a secret. The whole area has this relaxed, almost suburban vibe where you can grab dinner at places locals actually eat, not just tourist traps charging 20 euros for mediocre pasta. Plus – and this matters if you’re renting a car – parking here doesn’t require a engineering degree and your firstborn child like it does in the old city.

  Sehr nette und engagierte Vermieter. Das Haus geräumig, gemütlich und perfekt ausgestattet. Die Terrasse und der Garten lassen sich bei gutem Wetter auf jeden Fall genießen.
