You know what struck me first about Hedera Estate? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Lapad, and honestly, I almost walked right past it – the entrance is sort of understated in that European way where they don’t need a massive sign to tell you they’re there. But once you’re inside, it actually feels more like staying at someone’s really well-appointed family home than a typical hotel.

The Lapad area itself is perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it. I mean, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk from the old town (downhill on the way there, uphill coming back – just so you know), but you’re also surrounded by local cafes where Croatian families grab their morning coffee and these tree-lined streets where you can actually hear birds instead of tour groups. The hotel sits in this residential pocket where you’ll see kids playing in small parks and locals walking their dogs, which gives you a completely different perspective on the city. There’s a decent bus stop nearby if the walk back from the old town feels too steep after a long day of sightseeing.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – not just the tourist spots, but where to find the best bakery for morning pastries (there’s one about three blocks away that locals line up at) and which beaches are less crowded during peak season. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in quality without feeling worn down, and the beds are actually good – you know how hotel beds can be hit or miss. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully maintained. I noticed the Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which isn’t always a given in older Croatian buildings. The 7.4 rating makes sense too – it’s a really solid choice without being spectacular, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or spa services you won’t use; you’re getting a comfortable base in a great location with people who actually care about your experience in their city.

  La casa è carina e ben rifinita con un bel terrazzino e aria condizionata.
  
  What could be improved: Dubrovnik ha un prezzo eccessivo per qualsiasi cosa, avevamo prenotato per quattro notti ma siamo scappati perché non potevamo fare nulla, anche parcheggiare l'auto è impossibile perché si paga tre euro l'ora compresa la notte.
  Per quanto riguarda la casa l'unico neo è stata la cucina, veramente troppo sguarnita, non c'erano ciotole, una sola padella, abbiamo dovuto chiedere le forchette, che però ci hanno portato in pochi minuti

  Одразу хочу зауважити, що відпочинок в Дубровник дешевим не може бути, та ти очікуєш в на повну віддачу.
  Дуже простора квартира з усім необхідним для життя!
  Для нас головними факторами було:
  -дозвіл з тваринками
  -безперебійний інтернет
  -локація
  
  What could be improved: Будьте готові, що ви не попадете в номер через власника квартири; вам доведеться мати справу з ріелтерами.
  Там не велике ліжко, де 2 ліжка між собою зʼєднані. В день заїзду були проблеми з інтернетом – його не було. І проблему вирішили частково і тільки пізно ввечері. Проблема була вирішена лише на наступний день, дякувати власнику (дуже приємна людина), він прийшов та все зробив із ранку. Я би хотіла зауважити, що бажали би мати справу із ним ніж із посередниками.

  What could be improved: Te hacen perder el tiempo para recoger las llaves, pague la tasa de turista y entregue los DNI y a los dos días me dicen que le entregue la documentación de nuevo!!!! un descontrol total y encima cuando llegamos no había luz en el dormitorio principal tuvimos que cambiar la bombilla y la TV no funcionaba no había señal, la limpieza pésima, el termo roto nos duchamos con agua fría y las paredes de papel se escucha absolutamente todo, un desastre 😤
