Hotel Description
You know those places where you walk in and immediately think “okay, this is exactly what I hoped Dubrovnik would feel like”? That’s Hedera Studio 7. I mean, the location alone – you’re literally on a quiet side street in Old Town, maybe a two-minute walk from the main drag, but somehow it feels like you’ve found this secret pocket that tourists haven’t completely overrun yet.
The thing about staying inside the city walls is that you’re either going to love the authentic medieval vibe or you’re going to hate the narrow streets and stone everywhere. But honestly, this place gets the balance right. The studio itself has this gorgeous blend of old stone architecture with actually comfortable modern touches – not the fake-rustic stuff you see sometimes, but thoughtful design that respects the building’s history while giving you things like proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll want it in summer) and a kitchen that’s small but totally functional. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, and here’s something I appreciated – the shower pressure is actually decent, which isn’t always a given in these old buildings.
What really won me over was the little terrace area. It’s not huge, but you can sit out there with your morning coffee and watch the locals heading to work before the cruise ship crowds arrive – there’s something pretty magical about having Old Town to yourself at 7 AM. The owner clearly knows the neighborhood well because check-in was smooth and they had these great recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps on Stradun. Speaking of which, you’re close enough to everything that matters – Rector’s Palace, the cathedral, all those Instagram-worthy spots – but far enough from the main pedestrian street that you won’t be dealing with constant foot traffic outside your window. The walk to the Pile Gate is maybe five minutes, which is perfect when you want to escape for a bit or grab groceries.
One heads up though – like most places in Old Town, you’ll be doing some walking on uneven stone streets and stairs, so pack accordingly. And while the studio is beautifully appointed, it’s intimate rather than spacious, which I actually loved but might not work for everyone. The stone walls keep things cool, but they also mean WiFi can be a bit spotty in certain corners (though honestly, isn’t that kind of the point of being in a place like this?).
With a 9.7 rating, I went in with pretty high expectations, and it delivered. There’s something about staying in a place that feels genuinely connected to Dubrovnik’s character rather than just plopped down in a convenient location. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of your own footsteps echoing off ancient stones, and wake up feeling like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

A time to remember!! – Louis from South Africa – 26 May 2025 (10/10)
It was so easy to find the property for two 70 and 70+ persons. The few steps were easy to manage. The property had everything and more for a week stay comparing to other holiday apartments I have rented before.
Absolutely beautiful apartment in the heart of the Old Town – Mark from South Africa – 22 October 2024 (10/10)
This apartment is a beautiful, small apartment in the heart of the Old Town. It is stylishly arranged with everything you could want or need. The Kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils, even coffee and the necessary spices such as salt and pepper etc. The towels are lush and the linen is crisp and everything that opens and shuts works well. We loved our stay in this beautiful apartment, just what we needed for our stay in Dubrovnic.
What could be improved: Nothing really, just a little misunderstanding with the keys at the beginning, which we managed to sort out in no time.Great location. Modern and clean place. – James from United Kingdom – 8 October 2024 (10/10)
Great location. The place is modern and clean. Feels like home with everyday household items. Especially, the washing machine is useful, we had washed and fresh clothes during our holiday.
Exceptional – Małgorzata from Poland – 1 May 2025 (10/10)
Wspaniałe miejsce. Lokalizacja, wyposażenie, wystrój, kontakt z obsługą. Wszystko było na fantastycznym poziomie! Wyposażenie apartamentu pozwoliło nam spokojnie przed wyjściem przygotować dobre, pożywne i tanie śniadania oraz napić się kawki. W każdej chwili w trakcie zwiedzania mogliśmy zrobić przerwę i wrócić do apartamentu, żeby odpocząć i z radością wrócić potem do zwiedzania. Obsługa na najwyższym poziomie!
