Hotel Description

So I stumbled upon Heritage Villa Nobile completely by accident – well, sort of. I was wandering around Dubrovnik’s Old Town getting totally lost (as you do) when I noticed this gorgeous stone building tucked away on Izmedju Vrta, which honestly translates to “between the gardens” and that’s exactly what it feels like. The street itself is this narrow little cobblestone lane that most tourists rush past on their way to the main attractions, but locals actually use it as a shortcut. You know what struck me first? The complete silence once you step inside – I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Stradun where it’s absolute chaos with cruise ship crowds, but here it’s like you’ve entered this peaceful bubble.

The building itself has that proper Dubrovnik stone architecture, the kind where you can actually feel the history in the walls. I’m talking about limestone that’s been worn smooth by centuries of hands touching it, and these incredible arched doorways that make you duck slightly even if you’re not particularly tall. The rooms – honestly, they’ve managed to keep all the character (exposed stone walls, original wooden beams) while actually making everything work for modern travelers. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, the WiFi actually reaches every corner, and the bathroom has proper water pressure, which if you’ve stayed in other historic buildings in Croatia, you’ll know is basically a miracle. What really got me was this tiny courtyard garden they have – you can sit out there in the evening with a glass of wine and hear nothing but the occasional church bell and maybe some distant conversation drifting over from Gundulić Square.

Here’s the thing about the location that the hotel probably won’t tell you – yes, you’re walking distance from everything, but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly to escape everything. When the day-trippers head back to their ships around 4 PM and the Old Town empties out, you can slip out and have the place almost to yourself. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, like really knows it. They’ll tell you which konoba (that’s a traditional tavern) has the best black risotto, or when the morning market on Gundulić Square is worth visiting versus when it’s just tourist trinkets. Parking is tricky – I mean, it’s Dubrovnik’s Old Town, so cars aren’t really a thing – but they’ll sort out arrangements if you’re driving. The 9.6 rating makes total sense to me because this place gets all the little things right. The towels are thick, the bed linens feel expensive, check-in was smooth even when I showed up earlier than expected, and they have this lovely breakfast spread that includes local cheeses and prosciutto alongside the usual stuff. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully restored family home rather than just another hotel room.

Everything was wonderful. The garden terrace was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning or an afternoon drink in the sun. The staff were incredible and helpful, and assisted us with every need including airport transfers and restaurant bookings. The rooms were wonderful and comfortable and the location was so convenient. I would happily stay there again.

What could be improved: There was nothing I didn't like! I would have booked an extra night if I knew how lovely it was.

This is the best property in Dubrovnik. It is literally a minute walk from the front gate of old town. Had an amazing view of the old town. Property was wonderful and peaceful.

What could be improved: There is nothing I would change about this stay.
    It was perfect.

  • Russ from United States – 30 April 2025 (10/10)

The staff were amazing and willing to go over and above to accommodate. Beri went out of her way to help – especially with the parking location.
Breakfast exceeded expectations but in reality could be scaled back a little – lots of food…..The whole property was immaculate.

What could be improved: There was nothing we did not like about the Villa.

Great location, comfortable and spacious room, nice large bed, and friendly helpful staff. Really enjoyed the muesli/yogurt/fruit bowl option for breakfast.

What could be improved: The service fee added on to the bill was annoying.

Heritage Villa Nobile was fantastic, it was warm, cosy, beautifully done, Ivana was an incredible and welcoming manager who gave us lots of advice and nothing felt like too big of an ask. The breakfast was exceptional, everything we could have wanted and more, with amazing home made omelettes. We will definitely be back, it was heaven!

    What could be improved: Nothing.
