You know what struck me first about this place? The address – Hrvatskog Crvenog Kriza – sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Croatian, but it’s actually Croatian Red Cross Street, and honestly, it’s one of those quiet residential streets that locals use as a shortcut. I mean, you’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that comes with staying right inside the historic center.

The studio itself is one of those thoughtfully designed spaces that actually feels bigger than it probably is on paper. The balcony – and this is key – faces away from the main street, so you’re not getting hit with early morning delivery trucks or late-night revelers stumbling back from Stradun. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the locals head to work while the cruise ship crowds were still figuring out breakfast. The apartment has that clean, modern Croatian style that’s popped up everywhere since tourism really took off – think white walls, blonde wood, and just enough local touches that you remember you’re in Dubrovnik, not some generic European city. The kitchen area is compact but actually functional (I made simple meals there without wanting to tear my hair out), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that feels like a small luxury after a day of walking those stone streets.

What really sold me on the area, though, was discovering that you’re positioned perfectly between the Old Town and the more residential Lapad peninsula. There’s a small market about three blocks down where you can grab groceries without paying tourist prices, and the bus stop that connects to the main routes is close enough that you don’t need to plan your day around transportation. The building itself is quiet – I think it’s mostly locals and a few other vacation rentals, so you’re not dealing with party hostels or constant turnover noise. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re renting a car (honestly, don’t bother unless you’re planning day trips), but the location means you can walk to most of what you came to see anyway. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place that just works. Clean, comfortable, and positioned so you can actually experience a bit of how people live in Dubrovnik, not just where they vacation.

    Great place located near the port and the bus station. There is also a bus stop next to the building, which is great to take the shuttle to the airport or the bus to explore the old town.
    The studio is clean and towels were provided, which is a +.
    The host is really nice and reactive if you message her.

    For us, this property is located perfectly between the stunning Old City and lovely Lapad, It's literally 2 minutes walk to the marina. The apartment building itself is located directly behind The City Hotel. To gain access to the apartment building, walk directly up the path at the side of this hotel…we missed it as it was dark & late at night. Firstly I'll talk about the apartment. It's spacious, tastefully furnished & decorated to a very high standard of fixtures & fittings and is immaculately kept. It has a modern & chic vibe to it. It has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The bed is huge, with storage drawers with a very comfortable/luxurious mattress; we had a perfect night sleep every night. The WiFi connection was excellent, The kitchenette is well equipped with everything needed should you wish to cook & relax in the evening with the added bonus of a dishwasher. The owner is lovely (and his family) always available should you require any assistance/advice. The apartment has no pool but a 5 minute walk round to the left of the marina will take you to IL Vento. This is a restaurant with a nice pool, and pool bar upstairs that overlooks the yachts on the marina. If you wish to hire a sunbed you can do so for the cost of 10 euros per bed for the day. Or if you just prefer you can relax with drinks +/- food in the chic pool bar seating area. The music adds to the great atmosphere. For food in the evening we found a lovely little restaurant called Zrinski (right side of marina) with a beautiful garden area to the back if you prefer al fresco dining. The food here was delicious, the staff friendly and welcoming. We dined here 3 times during over stay. The prices were very reasonable 1 x carbonara, 1 x seafood mare, 1 smoked pizza, 1 x 0.5L carafe white wine & 1 0.5L red wine – 59 Euros.

    What could be improved: Loved the apartment, If anything i would make a suggestion of an iron and beach towels for future guests. Otherwise everything is perfect and highly recommed.

    This apartment is excellent. Spacious, very clean, modern, a very large extremely comfortable bed. Nice to have a balcony. Good air con – the quiet night feature was barely audible and kept us cool all night. The location is ideal as it’s away from the insane bustle of the old town, yet only a 5 minute bus ride from it. Bus number 6 or 1B stops right outside frequently to hop on into old Dubrovnik. The immediate area is a beautiful harbour of boats, excellent for a stroll with plenty of cafes and restaurants right outside. Apartment is very quiet as building is well sound-proofed. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk away and has beautiful caves to swim in.

    What could be improved: Nothing to note, the only suggestion would be to provide a clothes horse for drying clothes on balcony, and a few more plates and bowls and mugs so you can actually use the dishwasher.

    The apartment was as described/as appears in the images, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was some complimentary biscuits and a bottle of wine, I had all utensils needed to cook and there were some amenities in the bathroom which was handy. Great location with a bus stop outside the property (Ubers into old town/Lapad are affordable & reliable), nearby supermarket (TOMMY) & shopping mall (Minceta), bakeries, pizzeria & cafe bistro and the apartment is walking distance from the port and I felt safe in the area as a solo female traveller. I would suggest if you’re going on excursions very early to check if they will pick you up (perhaps from next door City Hotel/Hotel Porto) as you may have to travel into Old Town if not. The host was very attentive & accommodating and gave me an overview of the history of Dubrovnik as well as some tips on where to go. He was friendly with a sense of humour, kindly allowed me an early check-in and checked on me intermittently to check if I needed anything which was helpful.

    What could be improved: The only thing I think could be improved is softer towels otherwise everything was great!

    Beautiful, clean and spacious studio apartment. There is everything available in the apartment for a perfect stay. The location is also good. The bus stop is just in front of the building. The Host is very quick in responding and helpful. We had a great time in Dubrovnik!

    What could be improved: Nothing. Just a suggestion – It would be great if you could also place a washing machine in the apartment. And a dim yellow light also 😀.

    What could be improved: With all the plusses… there is one minor thing..The view, it looks out on a hotel. But the view in the surrounding is so great, it did not matter.

    The apartment is new, modern, clean, nicely decorated, equipped with everything you need. It feels more like a 4 star hotel than regular home. The location is convenient: 2 minutes walk to the port, 20 minutes walk to the Old town (there is also a bus stop right in front of the building, buses are frequent and it takes 3 minutes to get to "Vrata od Pila" entrance to the Old town). The area is urban, yet much more quiet and less tourist-crowded than some others. The building has private garage which is an enormous plus if you travel by car, since the parking in Dubrovnik is a serious problem. The host was super friendly, greeted us in person and shared great tips regarding good restaurants in Dubrovnik.

    El apt. es como en las fotos. Muy limpio y cómodo. Es luminoso y está bien equipado. La ubicación es buena, tiene una parada de bus en la puerta para ir a la ciudad vieja. A pie son 20-25 minutos de caminata. La zona es muy agradable, cerca de la bahía y los puertos.

    What could be improved: Pedí 15 minutos extra en la salida y fueron inflexibles con el horario.
