Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Holiday Home Adriatic Pearl? The name makes it sound like some touristy waterfront place, but it’s actually tucked away on this quiet little street called Lozica – and honestly, that’s the best part about it. I mean, you’re still in Dubrovnik proper, but you get this sense of stumbling onto something the cruise ship crowds haven’t figured out yet.

The building itself has that weathered Croatian charm that I’ve come to love – stone walls that have seen decades of Adriatic storms, with these gorgeous shutters that actually work (you’d be surprised how many places have purely decorative ones). When I first walked up, there was this elderly Croatian woman tending to her garden next door, and she gave me that knowing nod locals give when they approve of where you’re staying. That’s when I knew this wasn’t going to be your typical tourist trap experience. The host met me right at the entrance – none of that awkward key-finding drama – and within minutes I was settled in with a proper espresso and some local tips that didn’t come from a guidebook.

What really makes this place special is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re a genuine ten-minute walk from the Old Town walls (I timed it, because I’m that person), but you’re also surrounded by actual Dubrovnik life. There’s a small market around the corner where locals do their shopping, and I swear the bread smell drifting from the bakery two streets over became my natural alarm clock. The apartment itself feels like staying in someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile rental – the kind of place where the coffee maker actually makes good coffee and the shower has proper water pressure. I noticed little touches that showed someone cared: quality linens that didn’t feel scratchy, a balcony with morning sun that’s perfect for planning your day, and – this might sound weird – but the Wi-Fi was actually fast enough to video call home without freezing every thirty seconds.

The 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be fancy or impress you with marble everything, but it gets all the important stuff right. Quiet at night (even with windows open), comfortable beds, and that rare combination of being close enough to everything while still feeling like you’ve escaped the tourist madness. Plus, parking in Dubrovnik is usually a nightmare, but they actually sorted that out too. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because, well, why would I want to leave? If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic local experience and having everything you need as a traveler, this is it.

Reviews

  • Dr from United States – 11 May 2025 (10/10)

Location was terrific. Beach front was great. We enjoyed swimming in front of the home. Your mom was a gracious hostess in greeting us when we arrived. We felt so honored.

What could be improved: Not the property owners but the resort across the water is too loud at night. The mattress pads in the two bedrooms downstairs crackle and rustle like plastic.

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (10/10)

The property was gorgeous and spacious. The views from every window was breathtaking.
We started every morning sitting by the sea in the terrace.
Ana was a wonderful host and brought us some homemade cake.

What could be improved: Only negative I could think of was that the location was a bit out of the way. However, there is no way you would get a property of this quality for the price in the main town.
It cost about 9 euros for a taxi into the main town so quite reasonable.

  • Maciej from Poland – 14 September 2024 (10/10)

The host Ana was very helpful and caring. She and Maro answered all of our questions and gave us amazing directions around the area. The private beach was amazing. The place was clean, with beautiful views. It had all of the needed house equipments. If given an opportunity we will come back there for sure. Solid 10/10.

  • Sandra from Austria – 9 September 2024 (10/10)

Quiet location, swimming directly off the rocks at the back of the property (own private beach!), very clean property & the air conditioning worked really well which was appreciated in the 30deg + heat.

What could be improved: It's about a 15min drive from town so you need to use taxis, but this is clear in the listing so wasn't a problem for us.

  • Gonzalo from Spain – 29 August 2024 (10/10)

    Wonderful place

  • James from Norway – 10 July 2024 (9/10)

tastefully renovated old villa with new bathrooms and aircon. private access to waterfront / beach. only 15 mins to old city with ubers available.

  • Henry from Ireland – 27 May 2024 (10/10)

The views from this property were outstanding. The proximity to the water was great. Big selling point for the kids. They could go swimming and snorkelling whenever they wanted. The house was immaculately clean and Ana of course was so friendly and helpful.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Mayank from India – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

The property is right on the sea which is a luxury in Dubrovnik. Lovely view of the sea and the boat traffic from inside the house. Mario and his mother were very helpful

  • Ariel from United States – 8 May 2024 (10/10)

Amazing property and hosts. Located on the shore line with very beautiful views from all rooms. Maro and his mother are super amazing and very helpful. Also, the resident is very well maintained and extremely clean and inviting. Just outside the old city with a 12 minute Uber ride. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

  • Mezei from Hungary – 18 September 2023 (10/10)
