Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Holiday Home Mila – this place surprised me in the best way possible. When I first walked up to Boskoviceva 9, I was honestly a bit skeptical because the street’s pretty narrow and, you know, some of these Old Town places can feel cramped. But stepping inside? Completely different story. The space actually feels generous, and there’s this authentic Croatian charm that you just can’t fake in newer hotels.

What really sold me on Mila was how perfectly it sits in the heart of everything without being touristy-chaotic. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Stradun – that’s the main marble street everyone talks about – but somehow you escape most of the cruise ship crowds that flood the area around noon. The morning walks to grab coffee were incredible because you’d have these ancient limestone alleys almost to yourself. And honestly? The location meant I could pop back for a quick rest between exploring the city walls and hitting up the restaurants near Pile Gate. You know what I really appreciated? The windows actually open properly (not a given in historic buildings), and even though you’re in the thick of Old Town, it stays surprisingly quiet at night – probably because most day-trippers clear out by evening.

The whole experience feels refreshingly real rather than overly polished. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, but that 8.6 rating makes total sense when you factor in the price point and location. I’ve stayed in fancier hotels in Dubrovnik that felt sterile and overpriced, whereas Mila has this lived-in authenticity that actually enhances the whole Croatian experience. The check-in was smooth – no drama with keys or confusing instructions – and the host clearly knows the neighborhood well enough to give you the kind of local tips that actually matter. Small things like where to buy groceries without paying tourist prices, or which time of day to visit the city walls when the light’s perfect for photos. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik like you’re staying in someone’s well-kept family home rather than a generic hotel room, this is your spot. Just book early during summer months because places like this – authentic, well-located, reasonably priced – fill up fast once word gets out.

  • I would highly recommend this apartment. – Nancy from United States – 7 July 2024 (9/10)

I found the place charming and the location was excellent. The roof terrace was wonderful with a beautiful view of the city.

What could be improved: The stairs were a lot but you would find that in any apartment in the old town.

  • Great location! – Patrick from United States – 24 April 2024 (10/10)

Great location! Rooftop terrace has beautiful views of city!

  • Great location, poor attitude. – Christian from Australia – 14 June 2024 (7/10)

Location and size and view are perfect

What could be improved: The check in was extremely unfriendly, patiently waited for them as we were told because she was busy and then rushed to leave where I was having lunch as she was suddenly there. Then later than afternoon we were accused of having a party at 7pm because we were watching the sunset with one bottle of wine between 5 people. So yes the roof is lovely but don’t expect to be able to use it without being spied on and lied about.

  • Fint, bra läge och höll vad det lovade. – Catharina from Sweden – 12 October 2024 (9/10)
