Look, I’ll be straight with you about Hostel EuroAdria II – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first walked up to Metohijska ulica 2, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a hostel, even a 4-star one. But this place actually feels more like a boutique hotel that just happens to have some dorm rooms. The building itself has this solid, reassuring presence that you don’t always get with budget accommodations in Dubrovnik, and trust me, I’ve stayed in my share of questionable places here.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to capture that authentic Croatian hospitality without feeling touristy. The staff – and I mean this – actually seem to enjoy their jobs, which is refreshing when you’re dealing with a city that can feel pretty overwhelmed by visitors during peak season. They know the neighborhood well too, which matters more than you might think. Metohijska is in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the Old Town (maybe 15-20 minutes if you don’t mind a bit of uphill), but you’re not paying those insane Old Town prices for everything. There’s a decent pekara just around the corner where locals grab their morning coffee, and honestly, starting your day there instead of some overpriced tourist café makes all the difference.

The rooms themselves are clean and thoughtfully designed – nothing fancy, but they’ve clearly put effort into making the space feel welcoming rather than institutional. You know what I appreciated most? The soundproofing is actually decent. In a city where summer nights can get pretty lively, being able to sleep without earplugs is a genuine luxury. The Wi-Fi works consistently (tested it from my room and the common areas), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you don’t feel like you’re roughing it. I mean, the 7.4 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it hits all the marks that matter to real travelers rather than just looking good in photos. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you can actually meet other travelers without feeling forced into some artificial hostel social scene. During my stay in late spring, I met people ranging from backpackers doing the Balkans circuit to couples taking a more comfortable approach to exploring the coast. If you’re looking for something that balances value with actual comfort in Dubrovnik – which isn’t always easy to find – this place delivers without pretending to be something it’s not.

  Great stay for a solo traveller like myself, although im sure it would be just as good with companions. The Hostel is super close to the bus and ferry terminals which meant I was able to quickly drop my bags and walk around town with no need for taxis or anything like that.

  Terrace- ate my dinner and breakfast there and was able to watch the street life pass by below me.

  What could be improved: Pictures on booking.com are similar to Hostel EuroAdria, but not quite. A slight Catfish
  
  On booking.com, I paid 2.75 in VAT + city tax for this booking. On arrival, I was asked to pay 2.70 in a tourist tax- cash only. Not sure if I got charged twice or if this is two separate fees. However, booking.com has always expressed that I would be paying an additional fee at the property if indicated. My receipt did not say this.

  My daughter stayed at the hostel for 4 nights. It is cozy and clean, very close to the bus station and the old town is within walking distance. It's perfect for a short stay.

  The property was well looked after and it was cleaned daily. It had shops just around the corner with a bus stop close by. Our beds were comfy and we had 0 complaints. The staff took good care of us whilst we were there.

  The location was verry good. The hostel is charming with a great roof for chilling and enjoying the view. Nice spot for meeting people from all over the world..
  
  What could be improved: The check in was a little confusing.. (Arrived round five, and left early, the next morning. There was not much time in dubrovnik, it was a short stay).

  Everything was great! Very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and always ready to help. The beds were comfortable, and the bus station is nearby. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to this city!

  The staff (Sabeena) is nice and helpful. It was clean and the locker option is nice too.
  
  Only drawback is that the owner charges for parking a different amount from person to person. This is something I didn't like it. Other than this all good for money.
