Hotel Description
So I stayed at Hotel D’Elegant Dubrovnik last spring, and honestly? It’s one of those places that gets the balance right between being comfortable and not trying too hard. The name sounds a bit fancy, but it’s actually pretty down-to-earth once you’re there.
The location on Ulica Vatroslava Lisinskog is what really sold me on this place – you’re about a 15-minute walk from the Old Town walls, which means you avoid all that tourist chaos right outside your door but you’re still close enough to wander over for sunset drinks without planning your whole evening around it. I mean, you can actually hear the morning market vendors setting up on nearby streets, which sounds annoying but is actually kind of charming once you get used to it. The area feels properly Croatian, you know? Not like those sterile hotel districts where everything’s designed for cruise ship passengers.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know Dubrovnik – not just the obvious stuff everyone mentions, but like, they told me about this little bakery two streets over that opens at 6 AM and has the best burek I’ve ever had. The rooms are solid for a 4-star place, nothing groundbreaking but the AC works (crucial in summer), and the beds are actually comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, though the shower pressure could be better – typical for this part of the city, honestly. You can hear some street noise if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s more “real neighborhood” sounds than anything jarring.
Parking was way easier than I expected, which is saying something for Dubrovnik. They’ve got a small lot, and when that fills up, they’ll direct you to a public garage about three blocks away – not ideal but not the nightmare I was bracing for. Check-in was smooth, no weird waiting around in lobbies trying to look busy. The breakfast spread was actually decent too, with local stuff mixed in with the standard European hotel fare. I kept going back for their fig jam – simple thing, but you could tell it wasn’t from a jar.
The 8.1 rating makes sense to me. It’s not going to blow you away, but it does what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings – there’s a wine bar about five minutes away that locals actually go to, which is rare in tourist areas. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re staying in a theme park version of Croatia, this place hits that sweet spot. Plus, you’ll save money compared to those boutique places inside the Old Town walls, and honestly, you’re not missing much by being slightly outside the medieval fortress bubble.

Devendra from United States – 16 May 2025 (7/10)
convenient location for local bus service right outside the 3rd floor within 2-3 minutes walk; lot of space in the room with facility to make tea/coffee; large bathroom; staff helpful; Ana was great in providing excellent advice on local areas to visit, made reservation for us for Montenegro, willingness to help when needed; breakfast was great; packed light breakfast when left early in the morning for Montenegro or on the last day to the airport;
What could be improved: a small table in the bathroom to place clothes; no cleaning of the room for first 2 days (because we took the key with us – did not know if we were supposed to leave it with the front desk)Jordan from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (8/10)
Clean modern facilities and great value for money

Nice clean conveniently located. Although was driving but told bus stop is just across the road 2.50 euro and you are in old town and no hassle of looking for parking. Ivona was very helpful.
A supermarket is few hundred yards from the hotel.Liron from Israel – 2 May 2025 (9/10)
Location. Free parking. Rich breakfast. Friendly staff.
What could be improved: Maintenance could have been better (missing shelf in shower, toilet got clogged first night).Nilendu from United Kingdom – 20 April 2025 (8/10)
Very good breakfast, well kept and comfortable room with very helpful staff!
Miaudze from Poland – 18 April 2025 (9/10)
The rooms were really nice and comfortable. Some of them have poor view. Veery diverse selection of foid for breakfast. We asked to change the room next day and we're given a better view. Plenty of parking and restaurants within walking distance. Only 6 min drive from the old city walls. Perfect for exploring Dubrovnik. I would highly recommend this hotel to adults and families with children.
What could be improved: There was a bit of chaos during the breakfast. It appeared that there is no sufficient staff to cover the needs of the service.Szabolcs from Belgium – 14 April 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: the breakfast was very basic, but good quality. But we visited off season, in march.
Dubravko from Croatia – 19 March 2025 (9/10)
Nice and clean rooms, quite comfortable bed, location is the best if you are with car on business trip in Dubrovnik. Big and nice parking of hotel.

The rooms were clean and easily accessible.
