The ground-floor apartment has this wonderful sense of privacy, almost like you’ve got your own little slice of this ancient city.
The room itself is beautifully designed with that perfect balance of modern comfort and Croatian charm. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the furnishings — everything feels carefully chosen rather than just thrown together. The kitchen is actually functional (not one of those tiny hotel kitchenettes that’s basically useless), so you can prepare simple meals if you want to save some money or just enjoy local ingredients from the nearby markets. The space feels much larger than you’d expect, with high ceilings that give it an airy, open feeling.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Dubrovnik — you’re genuinely in the heart of everything without being overwhelmed by it. I mean, you can walk to Stradun in about three minutes, but when you come back to the apartment, it’s surprisingly quiet. The narrow stone streets around here have this authentic medieval feel that you just don’t get in the more touristy areas. Plus, there are some fantastic local spots nearby that most visitors never discover — little wine bars and family-run restaurants that locals actually frequent.
What really sets this place apart is how well it works for couples (and honestly, the 9.4 rating speaks for itself). The apartment has everything you need without feeling cluttered, and the hosts clearly understand what travelers actually want. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters more than people admit, and the whole setup just makes sense. You’ve got proper storage space, good lighting for getting ready, and — this might sound small but it’s huge — really good water pressure in the shower.

What could be improved: I loved being away from the old town centre as it was peaceful and quiet but there were many stairs. The stairs down were ok but we would Uber/taxi back. The view is worth it though!
It would be easier to describe what we did not like about the property. We own 14 airbnbs in San Diego and I thought we provide over the top accommodations. Insula is equipped for a couple of days or a couple of months. Everything you need is in the flat. The host also provided a welcome package that made us feel at home and provided great dining options.
What could be improved: We liked everything about the property. Great property great host.
The spacious apartment had amazing facilities (hot tub, BBQ, trampoline) which were perfect for our young family. Vedran was an excellent host and we really appreciated the milk/cheese/wine/chocolate(!) which was provided on arrival (avoiding the rush to the supermarket for essentials). We had an excellent stay here and would highly recommend.
What could be improved: Nothing!
The apartment was absolutely as wonderful as in the pictures! The stylish interior and modern, well-equipped kitchen brought comfort. The jacuzzi on the terrace was absolute luxury and the view of the sea was beautiful! The welcome refreshments provided on the day of arrival were a super positive surprise. The zig zag path up the mountains was really close. We really enjoyed this accommodation. Big recommendation!
What could be improved: Everything was just perfect. The only thing we missed was better duvets and duvet covers for our beds.

What could be improved: Nothing at all
Great hospitality, quality of decor in the apartment and amenities in the apartment. Also very close to the old city which was very convenient!
What could be improved: Having a second full shower in the main bathroom would be convenient for large groups especially, but the jacuzzi was great!
An exceptional apartment, newly renovated, it has a stunning view and everything you need to feel cozy. Kitchen fully equipped. Very nice host, providing whatever information you need for your stay. We would have loved to stay longer.
What could be improved: Everything was fine, but as everywhere in Dubrovnik you need to know that there is lots of stairs to climb, luckily there is Uber.
This properties interior design and facilities are amazing, I would happy live there. The view, the living area, the outside space, the bedrooms were all above expectations. We really enjoyed our stay. A nice touch was the welcome gift of wine, water, cheese and fresh fruit. The apartment was very clean, bar a tinny bit of mould on the tiles in the corner in the shower.
The only issue we had was the 400 plus steps to get back up to the property after a long day in Dubrovnik. (But remember, to get that view you have to be high up, so it's worth it). This was no problem for my teenager, whom ran up the lot, not stopping. But for me, (a lot older and more unfit) it was overcome by pacing myself up the steps (stopping twice) or ordering a taxi, so be prepared.
