You know what struck me first about Ivana’s place? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Lapad, but you’re honestly just a few minutes from everything that matters. I mean, when you’re walking down Ulica Iva Vojnovića, you get that authentic Croatian neighborhood vibe – people hanging laundry, kids playing in the courtyards, the occasional grandma sweeping her front steps. It’s real Dubrovnik life, not tourist theater.

The apartment itself is one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your booking skills. Sure, it’s rated three stars, but that 9.6 rating? Totally earned. Ivana clearly gets what travelers actually need – proper WiFi that doesn’t cut out during your video calls home, a kitchen where you can actually cook (not just reheat), and thank god, decent water pressure in the shower. The place has this lived-in comfort that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. Plus, the beds are actually comfortable, which honestly can’t be said for every place in this price range.

Here’s the thing about staying in Lapad – locals will tell you it’s where Dubrovnik folks go to escape the Old Town madness, especially during summer when the cruise ships are dumping thousands of people into those narrow streets daily. You’ve got the gorgeous Lapad Bay right there, and I’m talking about a proper beach where you can spread out, not those rocky coves where you’re fighting for space. The morning walks along the coastal path are incredible, and there’s this little bakery around the corner (I won’t spoil the exact location, but trust me, you’ll find it) that does these pastries that’ll ruin hotel breakfast buffets for you forever. Getting into the Old Town is simple – the bus runs regularly, or it’s a pleasant 20-minute walk if you’re feeling energetic. Actually, I preferred the walk most days because you pass through some lovely neighborhoods and get to see how the city really lives. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving, but Ivana knows the area well and gives solid advice. The whole experience feels less like staying at a tourist accommodation and more like borrowing a friend’s place – which, honestly, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just photograph it.

  Nice, neat, spacious and very well equiped apartment with large balcony (with roof).
  Supermarket across the street. Italian restaurant under apartment and very good croatian restaurant next door.
  20 min walk to old town or bus stop at 50m
  Host was very friendly and helpful and offered us fruit, drinks and snacks for free at arrival.

  Great apartment with lovely balcony. Easy communication and supermarket across the street. You can use n7 bus to go to and from bus central station and n4 to/from old town. Buses however do not always come and n4 can get really crowded and not stop.

  Everything was amazing! Beautiful view from balcony. Spotlessly clean. Washing machine and detergent provided. Cold water and snack in the fridge. Absolutely fabulous hosts! Bus stop 50m away. Awesome Beach with cave – 5min walk. Little shop across the street for groceries. .

  A lovely and well equiped apartment with a nice covered balcony facing the seaside. The host is very friendly and helpful! The location is handy for a walk to the old town, as well as very close to a nice beach under the Bellevue hotel. Parking is possible at the nearby sports hall.
  
  What could be improved: We were missing a proper kitchen knife in order to prepare some food at the apartment. The nearby small market unfortunately isn’t equiped with items like these so we asked the host if he could help. He graciously arranged for his mother who lives downstairs to lend us a couple of knives. We were very thankful for this assistance!

  A really lovely apartment. Very clean and well equipped – there was everything we needed and more! The host was very helpful. The location is great. A 15min walk into the Old Town and easy to get a taxi if you don't fancy the walk home! You can also easily walk to the beach too. It is on a busy road, but you cannot hear the traffic from inside the apartment. There were a couple of restaurants on the doorstep and a good supermarket opposite. The balcony had a nice view and you get the option of using the shared terrace too that has sunbeds.
