You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to K-apartments on Ivanska Street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Lapad, and from the outside it looks pretty unassuming. But that’s actually part of its charm, I realized later. You’re staying where locals live, not in some touristy bubble.

The apartment I got was way more spacious than I expected for a 3-star place. I mean, we’re talking about a proper living area with a kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just decorative like some places), and the bedroom had this surprisingly comfortable bed – none of that rock-hard European mattress nonsense. The bathroom was clean and modern, though the shower pressure was just okay… nothing to write home about, but perfectly adequate. What really got me was the balcony view – you catch glimpses of the Adriatic through the pine trees, and in the early morning it’s dead quiet except for the occasional local walking their dog down the street.

Location-wise, honestly, this is where K-apartments really shines. Lapad isn’t the old town (you’ll need a 15-minute bus ride or a €10 taxi for that), but it’s got this laid-back residential vibe that I actually preferred after long days of sightseeing. There’s a Konzum grocery store about a 3-minute walk away – perfect for grabbing breakfast stuff or a bottle of wine. The Lapad Bay beach is maybe 10 minutes on foot, and it’s where you’ll find actual Dubrovnik families hanging out, not just cruise ship crowds. Plus, you’re close enough to the ferry port that getting to the islands is pretty straightforward. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s usually street parking available, which anyone who’s driven in Croatian coastal towns will tell you is basically a miracle. The staff were genuinely helpful when I had questions about bus schedules, and check-in was smooth even though I arrived later than planned. For the price point, especially during summer when Dubrovnik gets absolutely crazy expensive, this place delivers solid value without any major surprises.

  The host was very helpful and heartwarming person. The apartment was at very nice location and the view was great. Easy to take bus/uber from the location and go where ever you felt like. No complains!

  The beach was a short walk away, down a long flight of stairs. Therefore there was a lovely view and a forest south of the Apartment. The sea was clean, and the beach at the end of October was not busy. The host was very kind and friendly. There was a supermarket near by and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The bus stop was nearby with a service towards the centre and port. There is a nice walk/promenade around the bay of Lapad Beach with lots of options to swim from small outcrops.

  The place was clean and calm. The host was very friendly, kind and nice. The place was very close to beach and supermarket.
  
  What could be improved: It would be better if the property had a small kitchen as well. I stayed only 1 day with a baby so I managed somehow. It would have been difficult to manage without kitchen for more days. There were 100+ stairs down to beach and was tiring with stroller. But of course there is an alternative way on the way up.

  The host was very nice and gave us lots of tips. Beautiful terrace with great views. We loved the cat! We had a great stay though some things could be updated.
  
  What could be improved: There is no oven (though in the pictures there is one). The furniture could be updated, it’s a little old, especially the bathroom.
