Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and honestly? Most of them feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The Kaboga Palace is different – it’s actually a luxury apartment that gets the balance right between historic charm and, you know, wanting to feel comfortable after a long day of dodging cruise ship crowds.

The location on Marojice Kaboge is pretty perfect, though you might walk past it the first time (I did). It’s tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tourists that flood Stradun, but you’re still right in the heart of everything. I mean, you can literally walk to the city walls in about three minutes, and there’s this little bakery around the corner that locals actually use – not just another tourist trap. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a hotel room. The restoration work is really well done – they kept the original stone walls and beamed ceilings but added modern touches that actually make sense. The bathroom has proper water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these old buildings, and the kitchen is fully equipped if you want to grab some ingredients from the Gundulić Square market.

What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being in the Old Town means dealing with noise until all hours, but this street sort of winds away from the main restaurant areas, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the occasional footsteps on stone. The Wi-Fi is solid too – I was able to work from there without any issues, which isn’t always a given in these thick-walled places. The only minor thing is that there’s no elevator (well, it’s a historic building, so that’s expected), but it’s only a flight or two up. Also, if you’re arriving by car, you’ll need to arrange parking outside the walls – but honestly, that’s true for anywhere in the Old Town, and they’re pretty helpful with directions to the nearest garage. The whole experience feels authentic without being inconvenient, if that makes sense. It’s got that 9.6 rating for a reason – you’re getting the full Dubrovnik experience without sacrificing comfort.

  Our host contacted us a day before arrival, shared valuable advice about the bus shuttle, gave us directions to find the appartment and waited for us with the keys. The appartment is fully equipped including all bath toileteries, beverages, a safe etc. Also the appartment is located in an area of Dubrovnik where you do not have to climb steps to reach the accomodation especially with the luggage. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and felt really welcomed and taken care of!

  The owner of the property could not be more accommodating. She gave great instructions as to how to arrive and met us at the door. The apartment has everything you could need, included in the price, including snacks, coffee and wine. Very large and comfortable and a great location a couple of lanes off the main street.

  We could not have chosen a better host, a better apartment, a better location. Aalemka is indeed a super host, most kind and generous. She met us at the taxi station, carried our big suitcases, up the stairs to the apartment. The apartment with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom is very clean, decorated with style and has a state-of-the-art lighting system. The beds are comfortable with high quality linen and towels. Aalemka had a bottle of wine, water, chocolate, cookies, a loaf of bread for us. The washing machine is a big plus. The location of the apartment in the Old Town is very convenient, few steps from the open air market, restaurants, Rector’s Palace and other attractions. Aalemka let us have a late checkout and she and her friend Leena carried our suitcases to the taxi station. Thank you so much for the warm and generous hospitality. Aalemka.

  Super place! Fantastic host – Mrs Alemka! Alemka was waiting for us on the day of arrival. Explain everything with appartment. Bottle of wine was waiting for us! There were cold drinks in the fridge free of charge. Bedrooms are very comfortable. Lokalization – just 20 m from Stradun (main street). Appartment fully equipted! That's fantastic weekend in Dubrovnik!

  Everything about Kaboga Palace Luxury Apartments was fantastic. Our apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated and Alemka is a great hostess. The extras that were provided were great including a bottle of wine, toast and jam, juice, cookies and much more. The location is the best in the old town.

  Amelka was a fantastic host. She met us at the gate and took us to her gorgeous apartment right in the centre of the city walls. She was on hand and available throughout our stay. There were so many extras such as a stocked fridge and wine in the apartment, it was lovely and spotlessly clean. Perfectly situated to explore Dubrovnik

  Extremely lovely host. Very nice apartment, wine for guests plus milk and butter in the fridge. Lots of staples – salt and pepper were full. Right in the heart of the city. Lovely apartment to escape to if the crowds became too much.

  This apartment was the best. The location is in the heart of Old Town and all of the amenities. It was definitely spacious enough for us girls. It is the cutest. Our host, Alemka was fabulous, accommodating and such a joy to meet. We had a fantastic time and the apartment was perfect! Definitely will stay here again if ever I find myself back in Dubrovnik.
