Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first saw Kenova apartment tucked away on Garište ulica – honestly, the street looks so narrow I thought our taxi driver was lost. But this little 4-star gem is actually one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The building itself has that weathered limestone look that screams authentic Dubrovnik, and when you’re this deep in Old Town, you’re literally living inside a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The thing about staying right on Garište is that you’re maybe a two-minute stumble from Stradun (that’s the main drag for anyone who hasn’t been), but you’re far enough off the beaten path that you won’t have cruise ship crowds marching past your window at 7 AM. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler echoing off the stone walls – it’s Old Town, after all – but it’s more charming than annoying. The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel room, which makes sense given that 9.3 rating. There’s this attention to detail that you only get when locals are actually involved – like the way they’ve preserved original architectural elements while sneaking in modern comforts where you need them most.
What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the sweet spot between tourist convenience and residential authenticity. You’re close enough to Onofrio’s Fountain that you can pop over for water refills (trust me, you’ll need this in summer), but you’re also on the kind of street where you might catch neighbors hanging laundry or chatting in rapid-fire Croatian. The narrow alleyways around here are perfect for those Instagram shots everyone’s chasing, but more importantly, they’re your shortcut to hidden spots like that tiny bakery on Od Puča where locals actually grab their morning coffee. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town, so forget about driving once you’re here, but honestly that’s part of the charm. Everything you need is within walking distance, and I mean everything – from the city walls to those cliffside bars where you can watch the sunset without fighting for space. The only real downside? You might find yourself so comfortable in this little corner of Dubrovnik that you forget to explore the rest of the city.

Location, comfort and help from the hosts was fantastic. The apartment is brilliant and I would recommend to anyone. Helpful touches such as juice and fruit provided on arrival and being able to store luggage when departing was great.

This lovely apartment is clean, comfortable and perfectly placed for exploring the Old Town and beyond. Just inside the city walls and a stones throw for Pile Gate, we stayed a week. The city bus stops are just outside Pile Gate and the port for all the boat trips is just down the main city street which the apartment is on. We had an amazing storm to watch while we were there and the apartment windows give the best view of the city street below. Amazing. Marko, is so lovely and any questions are answered straight away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends.

Everything about this property was perfect. The location was so close to everything making it easy to come and go between activities or enjoying a swim. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and was super comfortable. Our host was very helpful, met us at the property and even organised transport from the airport making our arrival seamless. While you pay a little more to stay in the old town – I would highly recommend it.
What could be improved: Nothing at all – while other reviews mentioned the noise- it didn’t bother us at all – that’s part of the experience of staying in the old town.Mac from United States – 28 August 2024 (9/10)

Apartment nicely designed and great condition
Loud but only because you are right in the middle of the middleDiane from United Kingdom – 24 August 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location – just inside Pile Gate. No steps to tackle bar the ones up to the apartment. We enjoyed being so central and watching people walk up and down the Stradun. Enjoyed the huge shower too!
