Tucked away on Nikole Tesle street in Lapad, it’s honestly the kind of spot locals probably wish tourists wouldn’t discover. The whole area has this laid-back residential vibe that’s refreshing after dealing with the summer crowds in Old Town (and trust me, you’ll appreciate that buffer zone). When I first walked up, I wasn’t sure if I was in the right place – it doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation,” which is actually perfect.

The studio itself is… well, it’s what a studio should be. Clean lines, everything you actually need, none of the weird decorative nonsense that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s very specific idea of “coastal chic.” The owner clearly gets that travelers want functional comfort, not Instagram moments. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night – I mean, you’re still in a city, so there’s the occasional car, but nothing like what you’d deal with closer to the main tourist strips. The bed’s genuinely comfortable too, which sounds basic but you know how hit-or-miss that can be in smaller places. And honestly? The little kitchen setup is better than most hotel kitchenettes – actual counter space, decent-sized fridge, proper coffee situation.

Here’s what you should know about the location: Lapad isn’t where first-time visitors usually end up, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re about a 15-minute bus ride from Pile Gate (the main entrance to Old Town), and those buses run regularly – though grab the schedule because Croatian public transport has its own rhythm. The neighborhood itself has this authentic feel where you’ll see locals doing their actual shopping, not just tourist-oriented stuff. There’s a solid bakery about two blocks away that opens ridiculously early, and the coffee there is better than anything you’ll find near the main sights. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re living in a theme park, this works really well. Just don’t expect concierge service or daily housekeeping – it’s more like borrowing a friend’s place, assuming your friend has excellent taste and actually cares about your comfort.

  Clean and comfortable apartment, with a great host, great amenities, and at a value very hard to find in Dubrovnik. A full kitchen, with stainless steel cookware, spices, coffee and tea, along with a washing machine turn this from a basic accommodation into a home away from home.

  the apartment is very cozy, clean, equipped kitchen, very clean and in a great location close to everything. It has a large smart TV. I loved it! I managed to do everything walking. the host is very helpful and friendly. He gave me a lot of tips about the place and that was very important. I will definitely come back

  Czysty i bardzo dobrze wyposażony apartament. Wygodne łóżko, kosmetyki w łazience, woda i prowiant na początek. Cudowny właściciel – czekał na nas do późna z powodu opóźnionego lotu i odpowiadał szybko na wszystkie pytania. Apartament jest nad samym portem – po wyjściu z budynku (jest winda) od razu ładne widoki. Lokalizacja bardzo blisko głównego portu i stacji autobusowej. Dojście do plaży przy temperaturach lipcowych zajmuje ok. 25 minut, a na stare miasto ok. 45 minut. W pobliżu są też przystanki autobusowe. Polecam każdemu!

  Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura tre giorni, il proprietario ci ha aspettati fino all’arrivo nonostante fosse molto tardi, ci ha consigliato cosa fare e dove mangiare, è una persona gentilissima e molto disponibile. L’appartamento è molto piccolo, soprattutto il bagno, ma per l’uso che dovevamo farne è stato più che sufficiente. Appartamento ben organizzato completo di ogni comfort, asciugamani, prodotti da bagno, phon e tanto altro ancora, consiglio vivamente!
