Hotel Description
You know that feeling when you stumble onto a narrow stone street in Dubrovnik’s Old Town and wonder if you’ve somehow walked into a movie set? Well, La Vita e Bella VI sits right in the heart of all that magic on Palmotićeva ulica – and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Rector’s Palace and that gorgeous fountain at Onofrio’s, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds trampling past your window at 7 AM. The suites themselves feel like someone took a traditional Dalmatian stone house and gave it a really thoughtful modern makeover without losing any of the character. The ceilings are high (thank god, because Croatian summers can be brutal), and there’s this lovely interplay between the original stonework and contemporary furnishings that actually works – not like some places where they just slap IKEA furniture into historic buildings and call it a day.
What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being in the thick of things. The stone walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation from the street, though you’ll definitely catch the morning sounds of locals heading to work and the occasional burst of laughter from late-night diners wandering home. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – they’ll tell you that Dubravka restaurant has the best sunset views (locals’ secret), or that if you want to avoid the Stradun crowds, you can cut through the small passage near St. Blaise Church. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town, so forget about pulling up to your front door. But they’ll sort you out with directions to the nearest garage, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway. Everything worth seeing is either a five-minute walk or a quick bus ride to Lapad if you’re craving a proper beach day.
The rooms themselves are spacious by European standards – I’m talking actual room to open your suitcase without performing gymnastics. The bathrooms are modern and the water pressure is solid (not always a given in these historic buildings), and there’s air conditioning that actually works, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting between June and September. The breakfast situation is simple but good – fresh Croatian pastries, local cheeses, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since the Yugoslav era. Look, this isn’t a resort with three pools and a kids’ club, but if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it, this is exactly the kind of place that makes sense. The 9.2 rating isn’t just because it’s pretty – it’s because the whole experience feels authentic without sacrificing comfort, and in a city where tourist traps outnumber genuine spots about ten to one, that’s saying something.

Room was great!
What could be improved: Host(s) could have been more welcoming and explained any nuances. Don’t assume, there was plenty of time.Weir from Australia – 6 May 2025 (9/10)
This is a beautiful property right at the beginning of the heart of Dubrovnik Old Town. It was a slice of luxury that was extremely comfortable and well appointed. The room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable and there are some wonderful touches like coffee pod machine. It was a lovely place to retreat to after a big day in the hustle and bustle of the amazing Old Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
What could be improved: It can be a little noisy as it is right above an alleyway which has little bars and cafes. However, if you shut windows and put the air conditioning on you can't hear it and the venues appear to close about 10 to 11 so it wasn't a major problem. The other thing is the street lights in the alleyway stay on all night, so the room remains quite bright throughout the night. I would recommend blockout curtains. Apart from these minor issues it is great accommodation.Kate from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
Great location and facilities, right in the heart of the old town. Apartment is so quiet and a lovely break away from the busy streets below. Room was immaculate and was well equipped, air con was great. Lots of steps depending on the room you are in but is needed after consuming so much gelato.

The location is excellent. Facilities were phenomenal. More than one could ask for. Arrangement was perfect. It was photo perfect and functional as well. A perfect sound system with a perfect TV. Bath robes were provided. Towels were in plenty. The fixtures were top notch. Loved the stay there. Keep in mind to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. If not possible, this is not the property for you.
What could be improved: During our stay, it was raining. So it was cold and humid. A bad feeling for the body. Unfortunately the AC wasn’t working and started working after a lot of fidgeting around with the remote. We texted the host but could not get a satisfactory answer. Also, the electricity got cut off due to rains. So in the morning it was freezing cold as AC got turned off. The electrician came to have a look at it and repaired the problem with electricity eventually. But such things can be avoided.Petr from Croatia – 10 February 2025 (10/10)
This isn’t my first time staying at apartments from this company, and I’m always absolutely thrilled! Everything in Dubrovnik was perfect: clean, cozy, and with a great atmosphere. The room is well thought out, everything is convenient and works perfectly. The staff, as always, is friendly and ready to help. I choose this company every time and it never disappoints. I’ll definitely be coming back!
