You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to M2 Apartment on Liechtensteinov put – honestly, the name sounds more like a tech startup than a place to stay. But this little gem in Lapad completely changed my perspective on what four-star accommodations should feel like. The location is actually brilliant if you know Dubrovnik at all. You’re tucked away from the tourist madness of the Old Town (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in July), but it’s an easy 15-minute walk to Lapad Beach or a quick bus ride to the city walls when you’re ready to do the whole Game of Thrones thing.
The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place – if your friend happens to have excellent taste and actually cares about comfort. The kitchen is properly equipped, not just the usual hotel kitchenette nonsense, and there’s this wonderful terrace where I ended up having my morning coffee every single day. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the entire space. What really impressed me was the attention to detail – there were charging stations where you’d actually want them, proper lighting for reading, and the bathroom had that perfect water pressure that’s somehow rare in older European buildings. The owners clearly understand what travelers need because they’ve thought of everything from beach towels to local restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the overpriced tourist traps.
I mean, let’s be real – with a 9.7 rating, you’re expecting something special, and M2 delivers without feeling pretentious about it. The neighborhood is residential enough that you’ll sleep well (no drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM), but there’s a great bakery just down the street and a little grocery store where the owner actually remembers your face after a couple days. Parking was surprisingly easy, which anyone who’s driven in Dubrovnik will tell you is basically a miracle. The whole experience felt authentic in a way that most hotel stays don’t – like you’re actually living in the city rather than just visiting it. If you’re the type who wants to explore beyond the obvious tourist spots and come home to somewhere that feels like home, this place gets it right.

The apartment was great, very clean and comfortable. Close to a lovely little beach and the local bus to the old town was very convenient. Fantastic communication and help from the host.

Wonderful apartment, comfortable and cozy, equipped with everything, it is also extremely clean and comfortable and also has a beautiful view of the city. The owner is very kind, friendly and super helpful, the location is also great and has a supermarket right under the house

The apartment was very clean and had everything that you would need. Walking distance to the old town and the store downstairs in case there was anything you needed to purchase.
The host is lovely, he is very kind, checks in and connected with us before our trip. He organised our lift to and from the airport.
All round a wonderful experience and I would return.

The owner was so very friendly and helpful. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and gave us tips and suggestions. The location of the room was near Bellevue beach and walkable to town or the bus stop. A small market was downstairs in the building and we were able to buy snacks/beverages and local food to try with a small kitchenette. There was a washing machine on the front porch and we were able to do laundry while visiting the sites. We were able to walk to restaurants nearby for our dinners.
What could be improved: I can’t think of a thing that we didn’t like. It was perfect for our needs.
