The elevator ride up gives you a moment to wonder, and then you step into what feels like someone’s incredibly stylish private apartment rather than a typical hotel. There’s something refreshingly intimate about the whole setup that you just don’t get in those massive chain properties scattered around Dubrovnik.
Here’s what I love about where Mai sits — you’re actually in a real neighborhood, not some tourist bubble. Radnička ulica puts you close enough to Old Town that you can walk there in about 15 minutes (honestly, it’s a pleasant stroll), but you’re also surrounded by local cafes and shops where actual Dubrovnik residents go about their daily lives. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of the city. Plus, and this is huge, there’s free parking right on site, which anyone who’s driven around Dubrovnik will tell you is basically like finding gold.
The room I stayed in felt more like a carefully curated studio than a hotel space. Everything’s been thought through — from the way the morning light hits the windows to the little touches that make you feel like you’re staying with a friend who has impeccable taste. The kitchenette setup is actually functional too, not just for show, which means you can grab fresh ingredients from the local market and make yourself a proper breakfast or evening snack. I mean, there’s something special about having coffee on your own terms rather than rushing down to a crowded hotel dining room.
What really struck me was how this area comes alive in the evenings. You’ll find locals heading to the nearby restaurant spots, and there’s this authentic rhythm to the neighborhood that you miss when you’re staying right in the tourist center. During the day, you can easily hop on local transport or walk to the main attractions, but at night you get to retreat to this quieter, more residential side of Dubrovnik. It’s like having the best of both worlds — access to everything you came to see, but also a genuine taste of how the city actually feels when you live in it.

What could be improved: Didn’t like we did not have more time to spend at the property.
Really enjoy the stay at apartment Mai, the room is spacious, comfortable for family, the hostess is also very helpful and thoughtful. The bread, jam and a bottle of wine is prepared in advance for us. Especially, she helped to print out the boarding passes and brought it to the apartment, letting us no worry at all during outing time. The view from balcony is outstanding, we saw spectacular rainbow and sunset there. It’s also convenient to park a car and call for a Uber from the apartment.
What could be improved: The only flaw is: the bathroom is kind of wet and dry inseparable, coz the water-shield of bathtub doesn’t work very well to prevent the water from splashing to the dry area.
It had a really good view of the Adriatic Sea, was close proximity to Dubrovnik and very well furnished.
What could be improved: The shower leaked water and it spilled out of the bath tub, making the floor quite slippery.
The property has a nice view of the bay and sunset. It is outside of Dubrovnik, a 7 minute drive to the old town. The deco of the property is modern and comfy with all that we need including a washing machine. It is a bonus for our stay as weather was extremely hot we frequently return in wet clothing. The air-conditioning in living room and bedrooms worked perfectly well. Communication with the owner was excellent and she provided all the local information such as restaurants, etc. well.

The accommodation exceeded all my expectations! Its perfect location allowed us to relax in a quiet and peaceful environment. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with modern furnishings and all necessary amenities. The beds were very comfortable. The balcony offered a wonderful view of the sea, which we enjoyed every morning with our coffee. As a pleasant surprise, we had a telescope at our disposal, and we also received a bottle of complimentary wine to enhance our evenings.
The city center is just a few minutes away by Uber, and there is a bus stop nearby as well. If you're feeling sporty, the steps to the city center can also be a fun challenge.
I would especially highlight the host's hospitality and the useful tips for sightseeing. Dubrovnik Mai accommodation was a perfect choice for us. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable and comfortable vacation in Dubrovnik.

Our stay was great! The owners had taken care of everything - the apartment was extremely clean, perfectly furnished and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The hosts had left us a bottle of local wine as a welcome detail, and had also taken care of small breakfast packets for each of the guests for the first breakfast. Also, the apartment had coffee, tea, hygiene essentials. Before we arrived, when we asked about nearby restaurants or places to visit, the host sent a detailed description with great recommendations. This was probably the most caring attitude from the owners of the apartment that I have come across while traveling and staying somewhere. Thank you!
What could be improved: The apartment has a great view of the sea and the nearby port. The view is slightly spoiled by the poorly maintained multi-storey building that is directly in front of the balcony, but this is really a small thing against the background of everything else and the view is fantastic overall.
I liked everything
The communication with Erna was very easy and the apartment itself is stunning. Thoughtful design and great views. We loved it and would have liked to stay longer!
What could be improved: Honestly, nothing. We had some trouble finding the entrance and kept using the 2nd level access before finding out at checkout that there was another door on the parking level that led to the elevator. Probably our oversight but might be worth making even clearer in the check-in instructions.
