Walking up to this place on Petra Zoranića street, it actually feels like someone’s elegant Croatian home that just happens to have impeccable taste. I mean, Lapad isn’t the touristy Old Town area everyone talks about – it’s where locals actually live and work, which honestly made the whole experience feel more authentic.

The location is pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re about a 15-minute bus ride from Dubrovnik’s famous walls (the buses run frequently, and the stop is literally around the corner), but here’s the thing – you get to escape back to this quieter residential pocket when the cruise ship crowds become too much. The nearby Lapad Bay is perfect for an evening walk, and there’s this little bakery two streets over that does these incredible burek pastries for breakfast. The hotel staff actually told me about it, which says something about how they treat guests like real people rather than just room numbers.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a four-star property. The rooms have this warm, contemporary Croatian design – think clean lines but with local stone and wood touches that feel substantial, not trendy. The bathroom marble is actually cold under your feet in the morning (I know that sounds weird, but it’s refreshing in summer heat), and the shower pressure is honestly better than my apartment back home. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in Croatian coastal towns will appreciate.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention – it’s not some massive buffet circus, but rather this thoughtfully curated spread with local cheeses, proper Croatian coffee, and fresh fruit that’s actually ripe. I watched them prep some of it the evening before, so you know it’s not just industrial hotel food. The staff seemed genuinely proud of sourcing local ingredients, and you can taste the difference. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM since they seem to use that time for really thorough room prep.

Look, a 9.6 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be flashy or oversell itself – it just does everything well without fuss. The neighborhood stays pretty quiet after 10 PM, so you’ll actually sleep, but you’re still close enough to walk to decent restaurants and that gorgeous coastline. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble, this place nails that balance perfectly.

  Fantastic apartment with everything we needed for the three of us. Short walk to beach & restaurants. Easy bus into town & Uber super handy. Ivana was very helpful throughout. Would definitely book again.

  Ivana kindly met our taxi on the street as the building number is not clear.
  Large apartment with plenty of light and excellent water pressure. Main bedroom bed was very comfortable, big wardrobes with extra towels; nice balcony with table & 4 chairs and clothes rack for laundry. Coffee brewing machine with ground coffee, and a selection of tea bags. Good quality microwave; dishwasher and washing machine including detergent for both.

  Ivana was very helpful and responsive. She met us there to get us settled in and answered all our questions about the apartment and the area. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, It had everything we needed for our stay in Lapad. The apartment was in new like it condition.

  This property was absolutely gorgeous, I loved the little extras such as cookies in a jar. I spent 4 weeks in Europe & by far this was our best accommodation. I travelled with my sister, not only was the accommodation sensational but the 2 of us felt safe & secure.
