You know what struck me first about MareLux? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street – Solinska ulica – that most tourists never even notice. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the Old Town chaos, but somehow you’ve landed in this peaceful pocket where locals are just going about their daily lives. It’s one of those happy accidents of location that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The building itself has this understated elegance that feels very Croatian – not flashy, but everything’s done right. When I walked into the lobby, there was this immediate sense of calm… maybe it’s the way the light filters through, or how the staff actually remembers your name after day one (honestly, that 9.9 rating makes total sense once you experience their attention to detail). The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed – they’ve clearly put effort into the little things, like having enough outlets where you actually need them and blackout curtains that, well, actually black out the room. You’d be surprised how many places get that wrong.

Here’s what really sold me on this place, though: the neighborhood vibe. In the morning, you’ll hear the fruit vendor setting up on the corner, and there’s this tiny café about two blocks down where the coffee is better than anything you’ll find in the tourist zones. The walk to Pile Gate takes you through these winding streets where you’ll pass kids heading to school and elderly folks chatting on their stoops – it’s real Dubrovnik life, not the postcard version. And honestly? After a long day of fighting crowds at the city walls or trying to get that perfect shot on Stradun, coming back to MareLux feels like retreating to your own private corner of the city. The area gets quieter as the sun sets, which means you’ll actually sleep well (trust me, some hotels closer to the main drag… not so much). It’s that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough away to breathe.

  The apartment is exceptional, big, comfortable, tastefully decorated, with all the necessary amenities even for a longer stay. The terraces are lovely, perfect for the morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The entire building is outstanding and it offers an indoor parking.
  Although close to the old center (20 min walking distance), the property is located in a quiet residential area.
  The hosts are super friendly and do the outmost for the comfort of their guests.

  Lovely modern apartment. Dijana was on hand and replenished supplies daily. The accommodation was very comfortable and modern. Getting into the Old Town is quite straightforward and on a relatively gentle path compared to the steep steps throughout Dubrovnik. Overall this is a great apartment, well located and would highly recommend
  
  What could be improved: Nothing about the property. Probably the time of year but whilst sitting on the sun deck there were several midges about so make sure you take some repellent

  It was very clean and the location was excellent.
  The supermarket Studenac Market nearby had very good side dishes. They also changed the towels like a hotel. The owner and staff were excellent and lent us a duplo for the children. The terrace is quite large and relaxing. There is a full range of cooking utensils.

  Mare Lux is an amazing house. Very stylishly decorated, everything is brand new and high-tech. We were very satisfied with the house and thoroughly enjoyed everything—from the garden to the living room.
  
  The house owner, Dijana, was very helpful. She supported us quickly and kindly in every matter, from the reservation stage until we left the property. I will definitely stay here every time I come to Dubrovnik

  Everything in MareLux apartment is amazing. The communication before our stay was responsive and quick and the host Dijana welcomed us in person.
  The day we went was heavily rain and there was some problems with the elevator. But Dijana is super friendly and tried every possible ways to solve the problem. She even gifted us a bottle of wine as an apology for that.
  
  The apartment itself is immaculately clean, modern and beautifully furnished. The bathroom floor is heated and the smartTV is a great bonus for us to share a night time fun together.
  
  The location is great, it takes around 10-15mins to walk to the old town area or you can easily grab a uber with only 5euros.
  
  I would highly recommend you to stay in MareLux if you are visiting Dubrovnik.

  Dijana was very helpful. When we arrived at the apartment she offered to send us by car to old town for our lunch when she saw my husband was wearing knee guard. (The road to old town is rather hilly) Appreciate her thoughtfulness. The apartment is very clean and fully equipped. Dijana also allowed us early checked in and late checked out. She also helped us to arrange transport to airport.

  Beautiful, modern 2 bedroom apartment that is perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Has 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet. Dijana has been a great host too. Living room has an excellent view and a nice terrace too

  We absolutely loved our stay at MareLux, the property is located in a walking distance from the old town, and it also offers a secure garage space for your car. The property itself is very well designed showcasing local and international furniture designer so if you appreciate architecture and design it is definitely a must stay place! Everything is well thought from the kitchen utensils to beach towels.
  The host Dijana and the team are very helpful and easy to deal with, during our stay Dijana also recommended us delicious restaurants and eateries in the old town and around.
