Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve walked past this little place on Široka ulica probably fifty times before I actually noticed it – and that’s honestly part of its charm. Marin & Ketty’s sits right in the thick of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, but it doesn’t scream for attention like some of the flashier spots. The entrance is tucked between those honey-colored limestone buildings that make this whole area feel like you’re living inside a postcard. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute stumble from the main drag (Stradun), but here’s the thing – Široka is just quiet enough that you won’t have tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM. Well, not as many anyway.
The hosts actually live this stuff, you can tell immediately. They’ve got this whole operation down to a science, but in a good way – like they genuinely care whether you find that little konoba they recommended or figure out where to catch the best sunset shots from the walls. The rooms have this sort of… I don’t know, lived-in elegance? Nothing too fancy (it’s a 3-star place, after all), but everything works and feels thoughtful. The stone details remind you constantly that you’re sleeping in a medieval city, which honestly never gets old. What really sold me was the morning routine – you can actually hear the city waking up through the windows, vendors setting up in the markets, that particular echo that bounces off ancient stone when the first cafés start their espresso machines.
Here’s what nobody tells you about staying right in the Old Town: parking is basically a myth (you’ll want to use Pile or Gruž and walk), but once you’re settled in, you don’t need anything else. I could roll out of bed and grab fresh bread from the bakery on Pred Dvorom before most hotel guests even figured out where breakfast was being served. The location means you’re experiencing Dubrovnik’s actual rhythm instead of just visiting it – late afternoon when the cruise crowds thin out, early evening when locals start their evening stroll, that magical hour when the limestone glows golden and you understand why everyone loses their minds over this city. Sure, it gets lively during peak season (July-August can be intense), but Marin & Ketty’s somehow maintains this bubble of calm. That 9-rating isn’t just people being nice – it’s because they’ve created something that feels authentic in a city where that’s getting harder to find.

Reviews
Very enjoyable stay – Mark from Ireland – 24 June 2025 (9/10)
Location is perfect, just off main Stradun street. No steps to the building Although the apartment is in the old town, the apartment is very quiet. It is clean and tidy and the host was very helpful. Because the apartment was so well located, we could easily drop back in to cool down during the day.
What could be improved: Nothing really, maybe adding a full length mirror would be a plus. Be aware for anyone with Limited mobility. The apartment is on the top floor of the building. (Third floor) and there so no lift.Thank you Ivana for a lovely stay. A great hostess who couldn’t do enough for us👍 – Sam from Australia – 12 June 2025 (10/10)
Clean and comfortable. Great location.
Gem of a property within the city walls – Michael from United Kingdom – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
The location of this property was ideal , although situated in the heart of the Old Town , it was in a side street which did have restaurants on it but once in the apartment and the windows closed this completely nulled any noise .
A absolute gem of a property and Ivana the host should be proud of herself for sharing this gemWould certainly return if we get the chance! – John from Australia – 27 May 2025 (10/10)
The Host was very attentive and gave us a great introduction to how the apartment operates.
The apartment was super clean.
The kitchen had all the utensils is you want to cook a couple of meals.
Bathroom facilities were excellent
Quiet apartment due to double glazing windows
Location was excellent being just 2 mins walk from the Stradum (main street) where a lot of promenading occurs throughout the day and evening.
A good reason to stay in this apartment is late afternoon the day trippers go and you can enjoy less hustle 😊
What could be improved: Nothing it was a perfect stayNo better location!! – Tori from Netherlands – 20 April 2025 (8/10)
Location was 100% !! A full “apt” with kitchen. Host was very nice. Spacious room.
What could be improved: Four flights of stairs. It was alot. Shower water is only hot for a couple minutes. Needs a sofa to relax. Only had two small chair. Check out is tooooo early! Make it 12:00.Excellent stay! Perfect location. – Lena from Canada – 6 October 2024 (9/10)
Very centrally located on a popular restaurant street. Few minutes walk from Pile Gate- all flat streets to the apartment. Look for the white stone pillars and turn right onto street. Although on top floor- no elevator – it’s very quiet especially if you close the window. Even in the evening the restaurants close up by 11 pm and it is very quiet. Kitchen is fully equipped. A few markets close by to buy groceries. Ivana met us at the apartment and was very nice. She kindly allowed us to have a later check out.
What could be improved: Missing ironing board.Exceptional – Broad from Australia – 27 September 2024 (10/10)
Great location, spacious living area, great washer and dryer. Right in the heart of the Old Town though nice and quiet.
Exceptional – Lisa from Australia – 27 September 2024 (10/10)
Excellent location within the city walls.
Incredible place to stay! Location was 10/10, so close to everything. We will be back! – Olivia from Australia – 22 September 2024 (10/10)
The location was amazing! Very comfortable and quiet for being so central. The apartment has everything you need. Aircon worked really well considering how warm it was outside.
What could be improved: Nothing, loved it all! It’s really was perfect! Clean, comfortable bed, air conditioner worked great. We loved it had a mini kitchen and a plac – Lisa from United States – 19 August 2024 (10/10)
The location and cleanliness was great. The steps up to apartment aren’t for the faint of heart (but I was aware of this prior so didn’t mind)
What could be improved: There wasn’t a wash machine. Seems silly as we never really care about this but part of why we booked this place. We were traveling for over two weeks thru multiple countries, in a small carry bag and planned on doing laundry. They did have an iron so was happy to see and use that.
