You know what struck me first about Marina View apartments? The name’s actually pretty spot-on – you really do get those glimpse-of-water views from most units, though honestly, you’re looking over rooftops and between buildings rather than staring at some dramatic panoramic seascape. But that’s Lapad for you, and I mean that in the best way possible. This neighborhood feels like where actual Dubrovnik residents live, not just where tourists pass through.

The building itself sits on Žuljanska ulica, which is basically this quiet residential street that locals use as a shortcut between the main Lapad peninsula and the bus routes heading into Old Town. I actually loved this positioning because you’re close enough to walk to Lapad beach (maybe 8-10 minutes if you don’t mind a little hill), but far enough from the waterfront crowds that you can actually sleep at night. The apartments themselves are pretty standard Croatian coastal rental fare – clean, functional, with that slightly dated but charming European apartment feel. Think IKEA furniture mixed with local touches, decent-sized rooms, and kitchenettes that are actually usable if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street. The AC works well, which honestly matters more than fancy decor when you’re dealing with those humid Adriatic summers.

What really sold me on this place was how it connects to the rest of Dubrovnik. There’s a bus stop literally two minutes away where you can catch the 6 line straight to Pile Gate – that’s the main entrance to Old Town – and the ride takes maybe 15 minutes depending on traffic. During peak season (July-August), those buses get packed, but early morning or late afternoon? Actually quite pleasant. The Lapad promenade is walkable from here too, and that’s where you’ll find better restaurant options than the tourist traps in the old city. I particularly loved how quiet the street gets after 9 PM – just the occasional local coming home or someone walking their dog. For a 3-star place, the value proposition really works, especially considering similar spots closer to the old town cost twice as much and come with street noise until 2 AM. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Perfect for travelers who want to experience Dubrovnik without paying resort prices or dealing with cruise ship crowds right outside their window.

  The host was really lovely – was waiting for us and even carried one of our suitcases up. She was able to give us lots of ideas on trips to take and was incredibly welcoming.

  It's a very modern apartment so I would recommend it – The view from the balcony is so good 😊 The living area is large & it has 2 balconies on each side – the kitchen is v modern & clean. The bedroom is down the stairs & it is huge & it also has a fab view of the marina! Everything was very good in the apartment we really enjoyed it & it is so close to shops/ restaurants!
  
  What could be improved: Just a hand rail on the stairs for safety would be good.

  Danka was an incredibly helpful and experienced host. She provided her WhatsApp number, and when I called her upon our arrival, she was already waiting for us. Even though we arrived earlier than the scheduled check-in time, Danka quickly prepared and cleaned the apartment, allowing us to settle in as soon as possible. She was also flexible with our late check-out since there were no reservations for that day. our stay at Marina View Apartments was perfect
