The apartment was so spacious and very well equipped, including an actual dryer which we needed due to the heavy rains. It included a parking space and was walking distance to the old town.

First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Mediterranean Blue Apartments on Alberta Hallera street, I wasn’t expecting much — the building looks pretty standard from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Lapad peninsula, and once you step inside, you realize the owners have put serious thought into making this feel like a proper home base for exploring Dubrovnik.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
The Lapad area is honestly one of those spots that locals will tell you about if you ask the right questions. You’re close enough to the Old Town that it’s not a hassle to get there (about 15 minutes by bus), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every time you step outside. The apartment complex is tucked into a residential neighborhood where you’ll see actual Croatian families going about their daily lives — which I mean, that’s half the charm of staying somewhere like this instead of a generic hotel downtown.
The Space Itself
Each unit comes with its own kitchen, which turned out to be way more useful than I initially thought. After a few days of restaurant meals (and let’s be honest, Dubrovnik restaurant prices), being able to grab fresh produce from the local market and cook breakfast became a real lifesaver. The room layouts are thoughtfully designed — not cramped like some European apartments can be. Actually, the balconies face different directions depending on which unit you get, so if you’re particular about morning sun or afternoon shade, it’s worth asking when you book.
The Practical Stuff
Here’s something that’ll matter more than you think: they’ve got free parking right on site. If you’re planning to rent a car and explore the Dalmatian coast (which you absolutely should), this is huge. I’ve seen people in the Old Town area paying 20+ euros a day just to park their car somewhere safe. The property management is also pretty responsive — when our air conditioning started making weird noises on day three, someone was up to fix it within a couple hours.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters for an actual vacation. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you factor in the location score guests give it — you’re positioned perfectly for both beach days (Lapad Bay is literally a 5-minute walk) and Old Town exploration. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the setup here, probably because you get enough space to spread out and plan your days without feeling like you’re living in a hotel room. Plus, there’s something nice about having your own little Croatian apartment for a week instead of just passing through.

What Our Guests Say
The host was very nice and friendly, possibly the best I have ever met. The apartment is luxurious, clean, and well-equipped. The view from the balcony is beautiful. I highly recommend this apartment.
Nice space and comfortable
What could be improved: Location a little hard to get to
The apartment was clean and the kitchen was functional. I liked that the host had coffee, milk and water- which was appreciated.
What could be improved: There were no A/C units in the bedrooms. The weather was extremely hot in July and the bedrooms were warm which made it difficult to sleep. Bedrooms fans would have been helpful.
It’s a 35 minute walk from this apartment to old town.
Apartment was very clean and tidy. There were many extras to make our stay very comfortable. Host was very helpful
Very clean and comfortable for a group of 6 people. The host had everything in the apartment.. For cooking, washing clothes.. great experience in the apartment
The location was very central, it had parking for our rental car, the view was great, the host was very friendly and helpful, there are city maps and tourist books in the apartment, the kitchen is extremely well equipped, beds were firm but comfortable, AC was nice, there are stairs down to a main street that has lots of restaurants, a pharmacy, and a small grocery store.
What could be improved: I didn’t realize that we had to climb so many stairs to get to apartment. We are traveling with my senior father who has heart issues, and I should have asked about this! It was about 20 stairs to the main door, then four sets of 8 stairs to get to the apartment. There were platforms for rest. The host did carry my Dad’s bags up, which was really nice of him!
cleanness and location
What could be improved: dryer didn’t work
Great location as we were able to walk to the Old Town (about 20mins) and in a quiet neighbourhood with a small shop down the hill. The apartment was so spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean! Great for self-catering with the family and a treat to have a separate bathroom for each room.
What could be improved: The stove was quite slow to heat up
Very comfortable, three bathrooms, very good location. The apartment has everything, kitchen full, etc …having breakfast or dinner in the balcony was outstanding.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect, just one air conditioner was no working properly
