I was actually a bit skeptical when I first saw Muziqa Apartments tucked away on Prijeko ulica – I mean, this narrow little street in Old Town gets absolutely packed with tourists during the day, and honestly, I thought it might be a nightmare. But here’s the thing about Prijeko that most people don’t realize: once the sun sets and the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships, it transforms into this incredibly atmospheric medieval corridor where you can actually hear your footsteps echoing off the limestone walls.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious for Old Town standards – and trust me, I’ve squeezed into some pretty cramped places within these ancient walls. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the building’s historic character. The stone walls aren’t just for show; they actually keep the place naturally cool even during those sweltering July afternoons when the Adriatic sun turns the rest of Dubrovnik into an oven. The air conditioning works well too (which, let’s be honest, is sometimes hit or miss in these old buildings), but I found myself using it less than expected. The WiFi is solid throughout – important if you’re trying to upload all those Instagram shots from the city walls, which are literally a two-minute walk away.

Speaking of location, this is where Muziqa really shines. Sure, you’re right in the thick of things, but Prijeko is actually one of the parallel streets that runs alongside the main Stradun, which means you get all the convenience without the constant flow of tour groups. I could grab my morning coffee from the little café at the corner of Bunićeva poljana, then slip through one of the side passages to avoid the crowds heading to the Rector’s Palace. The apartment staff clearly know the area well – they gave me this great tip about hitting the city walls right at 8 AM opening time, before the heat and crowds hit. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town Dubrovnik, so you’re looking at leaving your car outside the walls, but that’s just reality anywhere within the historic center. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it absolutely nails what it’s supposed to be: a comfortable, well-located base for exploring one of Europe’s most stunning medieval cities. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in apartment rentals), and I slept surprisingly well considering I was worried about street noise. Most nights, the only sounds were the occasional late-night conversation drifting up from the restaurants below and the distant sound of waves against the harbor walls.
