Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Old Town Jelena loft Room? The address – Zeljarica 5 – puts you right in the thick of things, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Stradun, but tucked away on this quiet little side street that most visitors just walk past without noticing.
The loft itself is… well, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a 3-star place in Dubrovnik’s old town, but honestly that’s not a bad thing. The stone walls have this authentic medieval vibe (because they actually are medieval), and there’s something pretty magical about waking up surrounded by all that history. The room’s got decent space for what you’re paying – and trust me, space is premium inside these old city walls. What I really appreciated was how they managed to squeeze in modern amenities without making it feel like some corporate hotel chain invaded a UNESCO site. The Wi-Fi actually works, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed in the old town.
Location-wise, you’re golden. That 8.6 rating makes total sense when you realize you can stumble back from dinner at Proto or Nautika without dealing with the crazy crowds on the main drag. The morning coffee run to that little place on Prijeko Street takes about two minutes, and you can hit Banje Beach or the cable car without breaking a sweat. Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik’s old town, so forget about parking nearby. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to leave anyway. The evening light hitting those limestone streets from your window is something else – especially in late spring when the cruise ship crowds thin out a bit. One heads up though: if you’re a super light sleeper, the church bells might wake you up. But after a day of exploring those city walls and maybe a few glasses of local wine, I doubt you’ll mind much. It’s that kind of place where the imperfections just add to the charm.

Superb – Mariak from Greece – 14 June 2025 (9/10)
The lady of the house Selena was very kind and helpful , she lets you use the kitchen , you can make coffee or make a toast
What could be improved: The only disadvantage is that the bathroom is outside of the room , a few stairs downstairs .Bozo the host was great, very entertaining and helpful! Made us coffee and fresh baked cake, made sure we were comfortab – Mark from Australia – 4 June 2025 (8/10)
Location was great, right in the middle of old town. Cute accomodation and extremely lovely host (Bozo) who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible!
What could be improved: Only thing (which wasn’t a big deal really) was the sloping roof in the attic, had to be careful getting out of bed in the morning so you didn’t hit your head 😜We both enjoyed the place and the stay hoping we could back again in summer❤️ – Jelyza from Philippines – 31 December 2024 (10/10)
The place were very cozy and uncle božo is very accommodating, he give us homemade wine and pastry and it was really good ❤️👌
What could be improved: NothingGreat host, lovely room. – Jordan from United Kingdom – 20 November 2024 (10/10)
Nice and clean room.
Lovely host, very helpful and kind.
Provided nice welcome drink and homemade cake, and gave suggestions about where to eat.
What could be improved: Being a loft room the ceiling is low, but all fine if you watch your head.
Only thing negatively to mention is the clock alarm that goes off in town which did woke me up a one point. However, it is not of course the owners fault and is the nature of a old town location right in the center of it all.
A beautiful view of the old town makes up for it!Exceptional – Vitaliy from Ukraine – 10 September 2024 (10/10)
I lived on upper floor with a great view to the roofs of old town. Location is in the center above Michelin restaurants. Cool authentic experience.
Btw WIFI was really good, I been working remotely one day during bad weather no issues, speed is good.Wonderful stay and fantastic host – Teresa from United Kingdom – 7 September 2024 (10/10)
Everything. Host Uncle Bozo loved his energy and enthusiasm. Lots of knowledge given of the area and just a very lovely person. Helped with our suitcase as lots of stairs.
Room was cosy had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. Would stay again if in the area.
Excellent location too in the heart of everything. Wonderful stay thank you x
What could be improved: NothingSuperb – Kristin from United States – 4 July 2024 (9/10)
Very clean and wonderful host.
What could be improved: The room is in someone’s home so privacy is reduced.Exceptional – Sophia from United Kingdom – 11 June 2024 (10/10)
Great location right in the centre and free wifi and clean amenities. Wife cooked lovely cafe and drinks on arrival!
.Very cute central placed stay – Cevher from Germany – 16 April 2024 (8/10)
İs absolute central. Has a nice cute view from the window. The owners are very friendly. Special thanks to uncle Bozo.
What could be improved: The bathroom is not in the room, but very close next to the room door and the privacy is ensured.Very good – George from Canada – 27 September 2023 (8/10)
We loved the location. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and quiet.
What could be improved: The ceiling was a bit low over the bed as the room is a loft. The bathroom is on the floor below and is accessed by stairs from the bedroom. While this didn't cause us any issues, it could pose a problem for anyone with mobility issues.
