I mean, everyone’s fighting over Old Town accommodations or settling for those massive resort complexes, but this little stretch of Ploce? It’s like finding a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves.

The building itself is honestly nothing fancy from the outside – it’s got that practical Croatian apartment block vibe that might make you wonder if you booked the right place. But here’s the thing about Dubrovnik: the magic often hides behind unassuming facades. Once you’re inside, the apartments are actually really thoughtfully put together. Clean lines, decent-sized rooms (which is saying something in this city where “cozy” often means “can barely fit your suitcase”), and the kind of functional setup that makes you realize someone actually thought about how travelers live for a week or two. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either – there’s a Konzum grocery store about a five-minute walk away, and honestly, after eating out every meal for a few days, you’ll be grateful for the chance to grab some Croatian cheese and bread for breakfast.

But here’s what really sold me on this place: the location is just… smart. You’re far enough from the Old Town crowds that you can actually sleep at night (trust me, those narrow stone streets echo every conversation until 2 AM), but close enough that you can walk to the city walls in maybe fifteen minutes. The real genius though is being near the bus station – I know, I know, that sounds terrible, but it’s actually perfect. Easy airport transfers, and if you want to explore places like Cavtat or take day trips to the islands, you’re not dragging your stuff across half the city. Plus, there’s this little stretch of restaurants and cafes along the way that feel more like where people actually live rather than tourist traps.

The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be some luxury experience, but everything just works. Check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and the WiFi actually handled video calls (which is more than I can say for some five-star places I’ve stayed). The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re mobility-challenged, definitely ask about which floor you’re on – it’s an older building and I’m not sure about elevator access to every level. But honestly, for the price point and the neighborhood, this feels like one of those finds you want to keep quiet about because you know once word gets out, it’ll be impossible to book.

  The location was ideal – 2 minutes from Banje beach and 5 minutes from the old town. The apartment was really comfortable and nicely decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture. The kitchen was really well equipped and had everything you needed. The air conditioning was perfect and kept the whole apartment really cool. The staff were really helpful and happy to give advice about things.

  This was an excellent location! The character of the building is wonderful, and it was lovely to sit in front with a beautiful view of Old Town.

  This accommodation was in the perfect location! There were stairs getting up to the property and up into our room, but it was not an issue for us and it was well worth it! There was a small "porthole" window in our room, but ample seating on the outside terrace that overlooked the Old Town. Truly spectacular! We were met and shown to our room and communication was clear and easy with our hosts for the duration of our stay. If you're heading to Dubrovnik, this location couldn't be better. You're close enough to the entrance, yet outside of the walls, so catching an Uber is super easy without having to carry your bags through the city. Oh, and the beach… it's divine! We swam each morning to start our day!

  Our family highly recommends these apartments! First line – 2 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the old town. The location is perfect, especially with a 3-year-old child! The hosts were very friendly. They informed us in advance about the lack of parking, provided direct airport transfer, and always checked to ensure we had everything we needed. The apartment was located in the attic with an incredible view of the sea and the old town. The apartment had high-quality, stylish renovations and was equipped with all the necessary appliances.
  
  Our child was very excited about the family of turtles and cats living on the premises.

  The apartments are located in an old family house, still displaying artwork and old furniture inside. The apartment itself was modern and nicely designed.
  The hosts were very welcoming and polite, and even more so the pet cats and turtles patrolling the courtyard. The view from said courtyard is fantastic, it's a great place to drink morning coffee while watching the boats go by.
  The house is also very close to the old town and a private beach.
  
  What could be improved: Nowhere to park, the parking in front was always full, we could at least stop for a bit to unload our luggage (very important to sort out parking before arriving in Dubrovnik!)
  Many stairs to climb if you have a lot of luggage
  At night there was a concert on the beach just below which could be heard very loudly inside, bad for the light sleepers
