Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw Opus One apartment on Ulica Andrije Hebranga, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you, and this little spot actually delivers where it counts most in Dubrovnik.

The private parking situation alone is worth talking about because, I mean, if you’ve ever tried to navigate Dubrovnik’s old town with a rental car, you know it’s basically impossible. Having a guaranteed spot just off Hebranga street (which locals actually use as a main route) means you can actually explore without that constant worry about where you’ll dump your car. The apartment itself sits in this quieter residential area that feels authentically Croatian – you’ll hear neighbors chatting in the courtyards and smell coffee brewing from nearby windows in the morning. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Pile Gate, which honestly beats being right in the tourist chaos where you can’t sleep past 7 AM anyway.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile. The owner clearly knows the neighborhood – they left these handwritten notes about which bakery has the best burek (it’s the one two blocks down toward the bus station) and warned about the church bells that ring at 6 AM on Sundays. The apartment itself is comfortable enough, though don’t expect luxury – think clean, functional, with that slightly worn charm that comes with Croatian coastal properties. The air conditioning works well, which you’ll definitely need in summer, and the kitchen is actually usable if you want to hit the morning market near Gruž port for fresh produce. I found myself making coffee on the little balcony most mornings, watching the neighborhood wake up slowly while planning my day.

The 7.1 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it solves the real problems of staying in Dubrovnik without breaking the bank. The location puts you close enough to walk everywhere but far enough to escape the cruise ship crowds that flood the old town by 10 AM. Plus, you’re right on the route to some of the better local restaurants that tourists never find – there’s this family-run konoba about five minutes away where the lamb peka is incredible and costs half what you’d pay inside the walls. If you’re the type who wants to experience Dubrovnik like someone who actually lives there rather than just checking off Game of Thrones locations, this works really well.

  What could be improved: The shower didn’t stay warm for long and at a few moments the noise from outside is a little bit to much but it doesn’t prevent uou at all tk have an amazing stay in Dubrovnik!

  The host was very friendly and helpful, even let us check out a bit later and leave the car a little bit longer after check-out. The location is a bit further away from the old town and is like a 20-minute walk, but is doable.
  
  What could be improved: Parking is right on a busy street and is very tight to get in, but that is understandable for Dubrovnik. The apartment itself is a bit older and could be renovated in the future, but it does the job.

  It's a very affordable option for visiting the city (as prices are very high in general).
  The host kindly allowed us to park our car just in front of the apartment, even for a few hours after we checked out (and that's very money saving there).
  The room and facilities were nice for the price we paid.
  
  What could be improved: It's definitely a commercial office converted into an apartment, nothing bad about it.
  The location is not very far away from the city center but challenging to go back to the apartment after walking the city as it's in the upper part and there are many stairs, but I guess that's Dubrovnik.

  What could be improved: It was not clean, the carpets were not vacuumed, the drain in the shower did no drain, the faucet in the bathroom was difficult to open, it smelled of moisture. Basically the studio is a converted garage.

  The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, kitchen had everything we needed and a washing machine which was free to use! It was about a 20-25 min walk to the Old Town and there was a beach about 15 min walk away.
