You know what caught me off guard about Orka Apartments? The minute I walked out onto that little balcony, I could hear the Adriatic lapping against the rocks below – and I mean, you’re literally perched right on Lapadska obala, which is basically Dubrovnik’s quieter waterfront strip. Most people rush straight to the Old Town (I get it, the walls are incredible), but honestly, staying in Lapad gives you this perfect breathing room that locals actually prefer.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. I’m talking full kitchens where you can actually cook something decent, which becomes pretty essential when you realize that eating out in Dubrovnik every night will basically bankrupt you. The whole place has this lived-in feel – nothing fancy, but everything works, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re only a 15-minute walk from all the tourist chaos. The 8.6 rating makes total sense because it’s one of those places that just… delivers on what it promises without any weird surprises.

Here’s the thing about this location that guidebooks don’t really tell you – you’re right by the Lapad peninsula, which means you can walk to actual beaches where Croatian families go, not just the tiny pebbly spots that tour groups crowd into. Plus, there’s a decent bus connection that runs pretty regularly to Pile Gate if you don’t feel like walking, though honestly, the stroll along the coast is half the experience. The staff here actually seems to live in Dubrovnik (shocking, I know), so they’ll point you toward the bakery that opens early or tell you which days the local market is worth hitting up. I mean, it’s not luxury – this is a solid 3-star operation – but sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring anyway.

  The apartment was in a good location, close to the Lapad promenade/beach and the bus to Dubrovnik old town. Plenty of restaurants and bars around too. The pool was also lovely, I would recommend this property!
  
  What could be improved: The noise from the road/surrounding area could be heard in the apartment. The room was quite bright in the morning.

  A roomy clean apartment. Great views. Everything you need for a self catering stay. A good location for us with the bus stop a few minutes away.
  
  What could be improved: The floor boards were super squeaky. No toilet round the pool you had to go back to your room. We had a late flight and were planning to spend the day round the pool but were unable to do so because there was no toilet.

  I recently stayed at Orka Apartments in Dubrovnik and had a fantastic experience! The apartment was clean, modern, and spacious, with all the necessary amenities (AC, kitchen, comfortable beds). The highlight was the breathtaking sea view from the balcony—perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks.
  The host was incredibly welcoming, providing helpful tips on local restaurants and attractions. The location was quiet yet convenient, just a short busride from the Old Town and close to beaches.
  
  TIP : BUY the 3 day Bus Pass and the WALL pass Combo – works cheaper and effective !
  
  What could be improved: The Swimming pool was in open so the water was cold. Heated pool would be great to have !

  Greatl apartment and clean. Great location for trips, the promenade or a walk to the old town. Bus stops close by. Highly recommend.

  From the minute we arrived and met AnnaMarija, we were made to feel very welcome and immediately felt at ease. AnnaMarija is a lovely friendly host, the apartments are really comfortable, clean and the amenities are excellent. I can't rate Orka apartments enough.

  We loved the layout of our apartment. We had a little seating area, wardrobe, couch, tv, double bed, a little kitchenette and bathroom. Bed was super comfortable. It was perfect for the two of us.
  
  We also liked how close it was to the bus stop for Old Town. Only about a 6-7 minute walk to the bus stop going for the town and then a 2 minute walk from the bus stop coming back from Old Town. Old Town is approximately 10 mins by bus. There is also a little alleyway near the apartment which was a great shortcut up to the main promenade in Lapad.
  Anamarija, our host, was super helpful and easy to deal with. We also met her lovely mother in law who gave us a few tips about the area.
  
  All in all, we absolutely loved this place and would not hesitate to book again! Thank you, Anamarija!
  
  What could be improved: We only had two small issues. We only got one pillow each and no spares. They were too soft for us (personal preference) so we put towels under them to perk them up a bit. The other issue was that we had an apartment on the ground floor inside the main door. We loved the location of the apartment but it just meant at nighttime we heard every guest coming and going out the main door, some of which were very loud. We both used earplugs after that so it was alright then.

  The property is in the perfect central location in Lapad only 10-15 mins from the old town. Plenty of great restaurants close by and near the port and supermarkets. As soon as we checked in and spoke to Anamarija she was so kind and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed and could contact her with any queries or info we needed. The apartment was a great size, very light with all of the sun that comes in. I loved the time I spent at the Orka Apartments and exploring Dubrovnik, a wonderful place
