Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Dubrovnik apartments over the years, and PaFi Apartment is honestly one of those places that gets everything right without trying too hard. It’s tucked away on Brsečinska ulica in Lapad – and if you don’t know Lapad yet, you’re missing out on the best-kept secret in Dubrovnik. While everyone else is fighting for overpriced rooms in the Old Town, you’re about a 15-minute bus ride from all the medieval magic but actually sleeping somewhere you can breathe.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Croatian aunt decided to rent out her place – I mean that in the best possible way. Everything’s been thoughtfully updated without losing that authentic feel, and honestly, the 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there. The owners clearly know what travelers actually need (decent WiFi, proper shower pressure, and – thank god – air conditioning that works). What really got me was how quiet it is at night. You know how in the Old Town you’re dealing with drunk tourists stumbling over cobblestones until 3 AM? Here, you actually sleep. The building’s solid, the neighbors are normal locals, and the only sound you’ll hear is maybe some birds in the morning.

Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in Lapad though – you’re actually closer to some of the best beaches than if you were staying in the tourist center. Lapad Bay is literally a short walk away, and it’s where locals go swimming, not just tourist-watching. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that opens early and smells incredible, plus you’ve got proper grocery stores and restaurants where the prices haven’t been inflated for cruise ship passengers. The bus connection into town is honestly more reliable than trying to navigate those narrow Old Town streets anyway, and parking… well, let’s just say if you’re driving, you’ll thank yourself for choosing this area. I’ve watched people circle the Old Town for an hour looking for a parking spot that costs more than dinner.

The apartment feels spacious in a way that’s rare for Dubrovnik – you’re not bumping into furniture or living out of a suitcase in the corner. The kitchen’s actually functional if you want to grab some of those amazing Croatian tomatoes from the market and make breakfast, and the whole place has this comfortable, lived-in vibe that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Plus, the hosts respond quickly and seem genuinely interested in making sure you have a good time, not just checking you in and disappearing.

I mean, a 4-star rating with a 9.7 score doesn’t happen by accident, you know? It’s because places like this nail the basics while giving you that little extra something – in this case, it’s the perfect balance of being close enough to everything that matters but far enough away to feel like you’re living in Dubrovnik, not just visiting it.

We arrived in Dubrovnik on November 23, 2024. We landed at 11:35 AM, so there were still a few hours until check-in time. The owner was very kind and informed us that the apartment was ready, allowing us to check in early.

Upon arrival, we were amazed. The apartment is equipped with everything one could need, and on top of that, there were surprises waiting for us, such as food, drinks, toiletries, and many other items we’ve never encountered in any other accommodation worldwide.

The apartment consists of a living room with a kitchenette, a bedroom, a bathroom, a hallway, and a terrace. The location is phenomenal, as there are bus stops nearby served by LIBERTAS public transportation. These buses take you to various parts of Dubrovnik, including the Old Town. We opted for a three-day DUBROVNIK PASS, which cost us €25. This pass included entry to various museums and the Old Town walls, as well as unlimited use of city buses. We highly recommend this option since a one-hour bus ticket costs €1.73, and admission to the walls is €15 off-season.

The bed in the apartment is very comfortable, but it’s worth noting that it is soft (depending on your spinal health, you’ll need to decide if this type of bed suits you). We found it extremely comfortable.

The apartment is equipped with a lot of appliances, including:

    stove
    refrigerator
    microwave
    kettle
    washing machine
    hairdryer
    TV
    air conditioning
    iron and ironing board
…and many other useful items such as umbrellas, slippers, and loungers.

We rate the cleanliness of the apartment as exceptional, and communication with the owner was fantastic. We highly recommend this place, and we would happily return to spend more unforgettable moments in Dubrovnik.

What was not to like? The location is amazing, the apartment is very comfortable in a great location!
I have NEVER stayed in an apartment better supplied… fruit, beer, coffee and everything you may look for! So many clean towels, loo rolls, shampoo etc…. seriously, there is everything here!!!
The bed!!!!!!! Oh my God, superb 😍 the apartment is super quiet, so a great night sleep.
Nika is amazing, helpful and available. I cannot recommend this apartment more highly- 50/10.

What could be improved: Nothing, perfect all round.

  • Sally from United Kingdom – 29 September 2024 (10/10)

Fantastic spacious modern apartment. Owners were so helpful – leaving us some goodies to be getting on with and responding very quickly.. Location is great – close to main ferry port and half hour walk to old town – shop on doorstep and plenty of restaurants near by. Great outside area

  • Bev from Canada – 28 September 2024 (10/10)

It had everything you needed! Bed was very comfortable, apartment quiet. We made our own breakfast in the morning. Eggs with fresh croissants. Lots of great supplies provided. Coffee, salt and pepper, milk, fresh fruit. Convenient store and bakery next door. Walking distance to buses and port. We used public transportation to Old Town for approx $1.75 euros and to Cavtat which was beautiful for $4euros. Our hosts were always available to answer questions as needed. Would highly recommend PaFi Apartments.

  • Leszek from Poland – 24 September 2024 (10/10)

The host is kind and very engaged in helping with everything you need. It was nice to be welcomed with fresh fruits and cold beverages on arrival. The apartment is very clean and fully equiped. The location is great – near the port, bus station and shops. The Old City is about 30 minutes walk or 7 minutes by bus.

  • Larry from New Zealand – 16 September 2024 (10/10)

Location was good. We returned our rental car early as there was no onsite parking but we were happy to walk to beaches, old town and restaurants.
It was great to have a washing machine. Umbrellas for when it rained and beach accessories available.
Hosts made it easy to find the apartment and self checkin. It was lovely to have milk and a few treats on arrival. The hosts were quick to respond to any queries and offer recommendations.
    Would definitely recommend.

What could be improved: No improvements needed.
