Palace Natali Overview

You know what? I’ve walked past Palace Natali on Privezna Street probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, from the outside it doesn’t scream “luxury hotel” the way some of those massive places do. But that’s actually part of what makes it so damn good – it sits quietly in this residential pocket of Dubrovnik, maybe a 10-minute walk from the Old Town walls, without all the tourist chaos right outside your window.

The moment you step inside though, it’s like… well, it’s not trying too hard, if that makes sense. The lobby has this understated elegance – marble floors that actually feel cool under your feet during those sweltering July afternoons, and the staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, no fumbling around with key cards or confused looks when I mentioned my reservation. The rooms are spacious by European standards (I mean, let’s be real, most hotel rooms here are tiny), and the beds are properly comfortable – not just decent, but the kind where you actually sleep well despite being excited about exploring the city. The bathrooms have heated floors, which sounds fancy but is honestly just practical when you’re showering after a day of walking those stone streets.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re here – Privezna Street puts you close enough to everything that matters without being in the thick of the cruise ship crowds. You can walk to Pile Gate in about eight minutes, but you’re also near some of those little family-run konobas that locals actually go to. There’s parking available, which is basically a miracle in Dubrovnik, and the neighborhood gets properly quiet at night. I could hear the sea if I opened my balcony door, but no drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The hotel restaurant is solid – not groundbreaking, but they do a really good black risotto, and the breakfast spread includes local pastries alongside the usual international stuff. The rooftop terrace gives you glimpses of the Adriatic between the neighboring buildings, and it’s a perfect spot for an evening drink without paying Old Town prices. With a 9.3 rating, Palace Natali has clearly figured out how to balance that five-star polish with genuine hospitality, and after staying in my share of Croatian hotels, that’s rarer than you’d think.

Reviews of Palace Natali

  • Neil from United Kingdom – 16 May 2025 (8/10)

Very peaceful and beautifully restored old buildings with incredible attention to detail and lots of nice artistic touches. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was simple but delightfully presented and healthy. Fairly good gym with free weights and a couple of machines. Nice 10m pool outside – very quiet with only a few guests which suited us perfectly.

What could be improved: We chose a top floor room which was a little small and had a sloping roof. I recommend guests choose one of the available larger rooms. Also Dubrovnik is on a steep hill so there are many steps to navigate – less mobile travellers beware.

Palace Natali was incredible. The property itself was so beautiful we sort of wanted to just hang out there! Such a luxurious escape at a reasonable price. Beet breakfast I’ve had on my life. I’d go back on a second

This place is stunning. Location is up a hill, however only 10 mins from the old town. Yes, there are lots of steps, however you can break part of your journey back by using the slope instead and then the last 107 steps back up to the hotel or Uber is super cheap. We walked there and back most days. A very simple choice with breakfast but lovely and you can have fizz with that. It only has 20 rooms and when we arrived we were there with a few other guests. The staff are super helpful and will help with anything. There are so many places to eat in the old town and every meal we had was superb. We love to walk and there are a lot of steps around the old town, so have good walking shoes and a good set of knees. Loved Dubrovnik and Palace Natali was the icing on the cake.

What could be improved: Loved everything

Very large and comfortable room, every detail impeccable. The entire complex is nicely refurbished.

Loved the history of the property, the staff was beyond attentive and helpful in every possible way. The grounds and view were stunning and just far enough away from the noise of downtown to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of this stunning palace.
