Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik over the years, and this little two-bedroom spot on Peline ulica is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some kind of code. You know what I mean? It’s tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at 7 AM, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you can literally walk to the Stradun in about three minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that.

The thing about staying in Old Town is that most places either cost a fortune or feel like you’re sleeping in a converted storage closet. This place actually gets it right. The apartment has this lived-in feeling that’s not trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect, but it’s still comfortable and clean in all the ways that matter. The bedrooms are a decent size – not huge, but you’re not bumping into walls every time you turn around. What really sold me was the little details: proper blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when the sun comes up stupidly early), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for more than just making instant coffee, and – this is key – decent water pressure in the shower. The stone walls keep things refreshingly cool even in July, which is more than I can say for some of the newer places I’ve tried.

Here’s the thing about Peline ulica that most people don’t realize until they’re there – it’s this quiet little street that feels almost residential, even though you’re right in the heart of everything. The L & M folks clearly know what they’re doing because they’ve managed to create this bubble where you can actually hear yourself think, but you’re still close enough to pop out for dinner at Proto or grab morning coffee at that little place near the cathedral (you know, the one with the grumpy barista who makes perfect espresso). Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik, so you’re dealing with the usual nightmare, but they’ll give you the real scoop on where to leave your car without getting a ticket. I actually ended up walking most places anyway because honestly, once you’re settled in Old Town, why would you want to drive? The only minor thing I’d mention is that the stairs can be a bit much if you’re hauling heavy luggage – but that’s pretty much every place within the walls. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me. It’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but it nails the fundamentals and gives you that authentic feel of actually living in this incredible old city for a few days instead of just visiting it.

  Location was amazing! Convenient and charming place within the walls. Great little stoop to sit on. Enjoyed the privacy! Air conditioning worked really very and was a great reprieve after long hot days outside.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen/bathroom space was small for 4 adults to move around and get ready but we made it work! I would suggest some more furniture like beside tables in one of the bedrooms – there was almost no surfaces to place clothing or luggage- and more mirrors to get ready with since only one person can use the bathroom at a time.

  The apartment was excellent and had everything we needed for our trip. Travelling as a family (2 adults, 2 children) we found that the apartment suited our needs perfectly. The apartment was easy to access, in a great location, with stunning views. We instantly liked the apartment on entering. There is plenty of space with a dining area, sofa area, breakfast bar – it was great to have space to relax after a day of exploring. There was lots of space upstairs. Two perfect bedrooms, super comfy beds, lovely linen and lots of cupboard space. We loved being centrally located, to hear the bells and the birds was delightful.
  The hosts are really generous and there are lots of well thought out items throughout the apartment – we were celebrating our anniversary and they kindly left gifts and balloons which were wonderful.
  
  What could be improved: Noise travels around the old town. It can be noisy at night – you can hear conversations really well! It did not bother us, but you may need ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

  La ubicación en el casco histórico es excelente ya que está a metros de una de las entradas, lo que lo hace muy conveniente para evitar las escaleras con las maletas, aunque fuimos con solo carry on es para agradecer. El departamento para Max de 4 personas, estaba muy bien equipado con todo lo necesario para el pequeño baño y la cocina. Cocina que obviamente no utilizamos ya que la gracia es explorar sus calles y comer afuera en junio!
  
  What could be improved: Se que el precio que manejan es alto en Dubrovnik, pero ya que hay una cafetera, podrían dejar 1 cápsula por persona por noche.
