You know what struck me first about Pomet Delux Studio? The address actually means something here – Ulica Iva Dulčića puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to Old Town to walk there in maybe fifteen minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. I mean, Dubrovnik in summer can be… intense, so this location is honestly pretty brilliant.

The studio itself has this really clean, modern vibe that somehow doesn’t feel sterile – which is harder to pull off than you’d think. The owners clearly put thought into the details, like actually decent lighting for getting ready (seriously, why do so many places mess this up?) and a kitchenette that’s small but totally functional if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street instead of eating out every meal. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, and here’s something I appreciated – the shower actually has good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in older European buildings. The bed’s comfortable too, though the pillows are a bit firm if you’re used to softer ones.

What really sells this place though is how the hosts handle everything. Check-in was smooth, they actually responded to messages quickly, and – this is key in Dubrovnik – they gave solid local advice that wasn’t just “go see the walls.” They pointed me toward this little bakery about three blocks away that locals actually use, and mentioned the best times to catch the bus into town (avoiding the morning rush when half the city’s heading to work). The Wi-Fi works well, which matters if you’re trying to book dinner reservations or figure out ferry schedules to the islands. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but they’ll help you sort it out – just don’t expect it to be free, because honestly, nowhere in Dubrovnik is.

The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be some fancy boutique hotel, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a place like this. The AC works properly (crucial in summer), the neighborhood feels safe for walking around at night, and you’re positioned well for day trips – whether that’s the cable car up Srđ Hill or catching a boat to Lokrum Island. I’d definitely book this again, especially if you’re the type who wants a comfortable base without paying Old Town prices for the privilege of hearing drunk tourists singing at 3 AM.

  What could be improved: It is a renovated "shop lot" where your room is facing "walking path", which mean u have to put the blind and close the door/window 24 h. But I am aware of ir before booking

  Well kept property, quick response from the owner, good location, seaside near, small shops/restaurants near, "homelike" feeling, good air conditioner. Definitely advise to choose this place if You are traveling with the family/friend/alone for parties (easy to get to the nearest bars at the seaside or to the city center and back), or the opposite – for calm relaxing holidays.
  
  What could be improved: There could have been at least two sets of same brand dishes/glasses/etc., as there were only leftovers from previous tenants (like – a glass from used chocolate spread, but no wine glasses).
  Would be thoughtful to put in a safe for values, like in most hotel rooms.
