Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Rilati Old Town Palace 4? The location is absolutely killer – you’re literally on the second floor of a building right in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and I mean *right* in it. When I tell people it’s on Ulica Dinka Ranjine, they usually give me a blank stare, but honestly, once you’re wandering those narrow limestone streets, you’ll stumble right into it. The thing is, this isn’t some massive hotel complex – it’s more like staying in someone’s carefully restored apartment, which actually makes the whole experience feel way more authentic than those sterile places outside the walls.
The building itself has this gorgeous old-world charm that you can’t fake. I mean, we’re talking about a 3-star place here, so don’t expect marble everything, but there’s something really special about waking up in a space that feels like it’s been part of the city for centuries. The rooms aren’t huge – actually, they’re pretty compact by American standards – but they’re thoughtfully designed and honestly, you’re not going to spend much time inside anyway when you’ve got the entire Old Town as your backyard. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re surrounded by restaurants and shops. I guess being up on the second floor helps buffer some of the street noise, though you’ll definitely hear people walking by during the day (the sound of footsteps on those stone streets is actually kind of charming once you get used to it).
Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart – and this is something you only appreciate after you’ve lugged your suitcase through a few Croatian cities – you can actually walk everywhere from here. The Stradun is like a two-minute stroll, the city walls are right there, and honestly, some of the best little konobas (that’s what they call the local taverns) are practically around the corner. I discovered this tiny place that serves the most incredible black risotto just by getting lost on my way back one evening. The staff at Rilati actually gave me some solid recommendations too, which felt genuine rather than the usual tourist trap suggestions. One small heads up though – if you’re arriving by car, you’ll need to park outside the Old Town walls and walk in with your luggage. It’s not a huge deal, but worth knowing ahead of time. Overall, with an 8.9 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises: a genuine Old Town experience without breaking the bank, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth it.

Reviews
Great location in the heart of old town Dubrovnik – Donna from United States – 2 October 2024 (9/10)
The location was excellent in the middle of old town Dubrovnik. While the room was small, it was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and newly remodeled. The room was also quiet when the window was closed. Be sure to get instructions in advance about how to arrive so that you are dropped off at the best gate to enter the old city. You have to walk to the hotel from the gate since cars cannot enter the old town. You may have to walk up 1-3 flights of stairs to access your room. This is normal for the old city.
What could be improved: everything was goodA comfortable room in a characterful little hotel, very well located (but no elevator). – Steve from United Kingdom – 26 September 2024 (9/10)
The location was excellent, right in the old town but not noisy. The bed was comfortable, the shower and toiletries were good and the aircon worked well. Left luggage arrangements were very convenient.

Amazing location, beautiful, clean. So close to the game of thrones steps.
What could be improved: Little on the expensive side compared to other cities but good for the area.Great location. – Lisa from Australia – 15 July 2024 (9/10)
It is in a great position.
Especially if you get dropped at the Pile gate.
What could be improved: We were in room 7 on second floor. The people / children above us were very noisy.
The room was not very noise insulated as you could hear everything on the corridor and every footstep above us.Perfect! – Kate from United Kingdom – 4 July 2024 (10/10)

This house holds a special place – we took my mum who stayed here with a family in 1967; it bought back so many special memories

Brilliant location and wonderful accomodation.
What could be improved: It was all good.
The only negative was it was advertised as having ‘free beer’ but the fridge was empty☹️Stay here if you want to get the most out of the old city! – Yoram from United States – 30 July 2023 (10/10)
The location, inside the city walls can not be beat. We were there during a heat wave, and found ourselves returning to the room several times a day to shower and cool down. AC was wonderful, on top of all the other amenities. Staff was very helpful in giving us information ahead of arriving and throughout our stay.
