You know what struck me first about Rooms Monika? The address – Ulica od Nuncijate is literally “Street of the Nuncio,” and honestly, it sounds way more intimidating than it actually is. This little street sits just outside Dubrovnik’s old town walls, which means you’re close enough to hear the morning bells from the cathedral but far enough away that you won’t be kept awake by drunk tourists stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM. The location is actually pretty genius when you think about it – you get that authentic neighborhood vibe without sacrificing convenience.

The rooms themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple.” It’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything fancy, but everything works and feels clean. The owner, Monika (yeah, it’s actually her name), clearly knows what travelers need. I mean, the WiFi is solid, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase – which, let’s be honest, is more than you can say for a lot of places in Dubrovnik’s old town where you’re basically paying premium prices to sleep in what used to be a storage closet. The windows are decent quality too, which matters because Croatian mornings can be… enthusiastic. You’ll hear some street noise, but it’s the good kind – locals heading to work, not party chaos.

What really sells this place for me is how Monika runs it. She’s one of those hosts who actually lives in the area and knows things – like which bakery opens earliest (important for catching those morning ferries to the islands), or that the little konoba around the corner serves better seafood than half the restaurants charging tourist prices inside the walls. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you stay there because it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s just… reliable? And in a city where accommodation can be hit-or-miss, especially during summer when everyone and their mother is visiting, reliable is worth its weight in gold. Plus, parking is actually manageable in this area – you won’t be circling the block for an hour like you would closer to Stradun. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like staying in a Croatian neighborhood than a tourist bubble, but still want to walk to everything important, this works really well.

  The rooms sit high above Dubrovnik Marina, with a great view over the city when standing outside the property. Lots of steps to climb if you travel on foot from the harbourside, although the location also sits on a bus route. The host was friendly and chatty, the room was clean and modern, everything worked well.

  The view was amazing. Very clean, lots of thoughtful additions to room such as bathroom items. The bus was right outside the room. First and last stop on the #3 line.
  
  What could be improved: I couldn’t get the TV to work. I tired all kinds of ways. Instructions would help. The shower barely dribbled. My husband cleaned the scale off the shower head and then perfect. Food is forbidden in the room. We didn’t know that the #3 bus brings you right to the door from the bus station. We walked to the room with heavy backpacks and it was extremely difficult as this room is way up to the mountain.

  Location of the place is excellent. Not that far from Old Town. Bus #3 is literally by the hotel which takes you to downtown! Very easy ride!
  
  What could be improved: Everything was excellent! Room has all necessities needed for a traveller. The host has stocked the room with drinks and all travel supplies that a person can easily have forgotten at home!

  It is right next to a bus stop to get to the old town. The owner was very helpful and friendly to make for a smooth experience. You have your own parking slot. Comfortable room, good shower, good aircon, good views. We had a great time! Thank you!

  Clean, very nice view, nice host. Nice balcony to enjoy the coffee in the morning. Coffee in the room and cold drinks in the fridge from the host, wirch was so nice!

  What could be improved: The lady that came to ask us for the 10 euros price for parking. We were told about that after booking. Not a problem, but just something to mention.

  There was only steps to the room!!!! The property is on a main road! A huge plus for this accommodation. Amazing view. Sound proofed but amazing for heavy luggage.
