Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and honestly? Saint Blaise Apartment is one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret. It’s tucked away on Ulica Josipa Kosora in Lapad – and before you panic about being away from the Old Town, just hear me out. Lapad is actually where the locals hang out, you know? The peninsula has this laid-back residential vibe that’s completely different from the tourist madness closer to the walls. You’re maybe a 15-minute bus ride from Pile Gate, but here’s the thing – after a day of dodging cruise ship crowds, you’ll actually want to come back to somewhere that feels… normal.

The apartment itself punches way above its 3-star rating (seriously, that 9.5 score isn’t a fluke). Walking in, you immediately notice how much thought went into the space – it’s got that modern Croatian apartment feel without being sterile. The kitchen actually works, which I can’t say for half the places I’ve rented in Europe, and there’s proper counter space if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street. The bedroom gets great morning light, though if you’re sensitive to street noise, well… it’s a city apartment. Nothing terrible, just the occasional scooter or early morning delivery truck. What I really appreciated was the air conditioning – and trust me, if you’re visiting Dubrovnik in summer, this isn’t negotiable.

But here’s what really sold me on the location: you’re a 5-minute walk from Lapad Beach. Not the rocky, crowded spots the day-trippers hit, but an actual sandy beach where Croatian families spend their weekends. There’s a little promenade along the water with cafes that serve proper coffee (not tourist coffee), and honestly, some of my best Dubrovnik memories are from just sitting there in the evening with a beer, watching kids play in the shallows. The Lapad market happens twice a week right in the neighborhood – you can actually buy tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, if you know what I mean. And when you do want to explore the Old Town or hit up the cable car, the bus stop is literally around the corner. The 6 line runs regularly, and locals are usually happy to help if you look confused (which, let’s be honest, happens to all of us with Croatian bus routes). Saint Blaise Apartment isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or a lobby that looks like a magazine spread, but it gives you something better – a genuine slice of how people actually live in this incredible city.

  Very cozy apartment that has everything what you need for your stay in Dubrovnik. Close to shops and coffee bars, within walking distance of the grocery store. Also not that far away from the old town if you like a good walk along the coast but also in the near of the bus station. Has a parking in front of the building if you are traveling by a car.

  The apartment was clean, functional and it was clear that everything was well thought of. Location was also great with a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to old town and Lapad centre. Beautiful Bellevue beach also nearby. Host Dario was also responsive and had left amenities for us. Overall great price value and a perfect stay for 4 persons.

  Everything was perfect. The apartment is clean and confortable. I don't have much to say but everything excellent. The host left some things to breakfast, and also he allowed us to enter earlier because the ferry arrived on the morning. 5 stars is a low rate.

  Beautiful appartment, very clean and comfortable. Great location as it's a half hour walk to the old town or a short bus ride on the number 4 from the stop just around the corner.The kitchen had everything we needed and there is a supermarket very close by which is extremely handy. Dario greeted us on arrival, explained everything we needed to know and provided us with his contact details just in case we needed anything during our stay.The beds were also very comfortable. Excellent appartment and excellent host.

  This has been by far the best accomodation we had in whole Croatia. Super spacious, clean, fully eqquiped, nicely decorated and thoughtfull in every possible way(Washing maschine and powder, Netflix, HBO, great coffee, fruits, warer bottle, enough extra pillows, covers, literally nothing missing that you could need) beautiful balcony, the location is perfect in a quiet nice green neighbourhood with a lot of possibilities to grab food around. Supermarket around the corner. A nice stroll to the beach and easy bus ride or some 20-30min walk to the city. But Uber is very affordable also, we never paid more then 5 euro. This is our place to be when we come back. Price value incomparable to other pkaces we stayed in
