Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and SB Apartment JOY on Korčulanska ulica honestly surprised me. When I first walked up to the building in Lapad, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how apartment rentals can be hit or miss. But stepping inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. The apartment has that perfect balance of being spotless without feeling sterile, if that makes sense. You can tell they’ve put thought into the little things – like having proper blackout curtains (trust me, summer sunrises in Croatia come early) and a shower with actual water pressure.

What really won me over was the location situation. Lapad isn’t where all the tourist buses dump everyone, which means you get to experience Dubrovnik more like… well, like someone who actually lives there. The walk to the Old Town takes maybe 20 minutes along the water, and honestly? It’s one of the best parts of staying here. You pass locals heading to work, kids playing in the small parks, and you get these glimpses of the city walls from different angles that day-trippers never see. There’s a small grocery store about three minutes away where the owner started recognizing me by day two – that kind of neighborhood feel you just can’t get in the tourist zone. The beach at Lapad Bay is right there too, and it’s where Croatian families go on weekends, not just cruise ship passengers taking selfies.

The apartment itself feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a rental. Everything works properly – I mean everything. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home, the air conditioning actually cools the place down, and the kitchen has real equipment, not those flimsy tourist apartment basics. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, the local market has incredible produce and it felt natural to use that beautiful kitchen. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that weird apartment-rental back ache, and the whole space stays surprisingly quiet despite being in a residential area. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no drama, no waiting around, just someone who clearly knows what they’re doing. That 9.4 rating starts making sense when you realize it’s these accumulated small victories that make a stay actually enjoyable rather than just tolerable. For anyone wanting to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re living in a theme park, this place gets it right.

  Apartament spełniał wszystkie potrzeby. Apartament duży z pięknym widokiem z balkonu. Klimatyzacja działa, wyposażenie kuchni bardzo wysokie. Wszędzie blisko jak i do starego miasta tak i na bliską fajną plażę. Gorąco polecam

  Supervriendelijke verhuurders die graag helpen. Een superette op 20m. Goede uitvalsbasis voor Dubrovnik en een leuk strand vlakbij.

  Super vriendelijke eigenaar die je staat op te wachten met een glimlach. Uitzicht op beide terrassen is waanzinnig mooi. 2 strandjes en zwembad op 50-100m wandelen. De wandeling naar de oude stad is goed te doen.
