But this place on Zlatni Potok actually delivers on both promises, and then some. The sea view isn’t just a sliver of blue between buildings – you’re looking out over the Adriatic with those dramatic cliffs that make Dubrovnik’s coastline so incredible. I mean, you wake up to that view every morning, and it never gets old. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room, which honestly makes the whole experience more relaxing. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – there’s proper counter space in the bathroom (you know how rare that is), decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and air conditioning that actually works when those summer afternoons get brutal.

The walk to the old city is where this place really shines, though. Ten minutes sounds about right if you’re not stopping to take photos every few steps, but here’s what they don’t tell you – it’s mostly downhill getting there, which means you’re walking uphill coming back. Not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind after a long day of exploring those stone streets. The route takes you through some quieter residential areas where you’ll see actual Dubrovnik life happening, not just tourist shops. There’s this little bakery about halfway that opens early – perfect for grabbing something before the old town crowds hit. And speaking of crowds, staying in Ploce means you escape that chaos at the end of the day while still being close enough to pop back for sunset drinks on the walls.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail. The apartment has that lived-in comfort without feeling worn down, and the location gives you the best of both worlds – close enough to walk to Stradun in the morning, far enough away that you’re not hearing drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The building itself is quiet, which is honestly a blessing after dealing with paper-thin walls at other places I’ve stayed. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but the owner sends clear instructions beforehand, and there’s usually something available within a block or two. The whole experience just feels more authentic than staying inside the city walls, where everything’s geared toward day-trippers anyway. You’re getting that incredible Dubrovnik experience without paying old town prices or dealing with the constant foot traffic outside your window.

The owners are helpful giving all information we need during our stay also having to organise our transportation to the airport at 4am.

  The property is well designed with a high level of finish. We could see that the owner had some minor works still ongoing but this didn't affect our stay. The bathroom and kitchen were well designed with a modern finish, very clean lines, good function and aesthetically pleasing. The views of Lokrum from the dining area and balcony are stunning and were a real pleasure to wake up to every morning. Everything worked well, appliances, shower, lights etc. The owner was very attentive, answered our queries quickly and was kind enough to let us check out late on the last day so that we could get straight to the airport.
  
  What could be improved: Being in our late fifties the ten minute walk to town was more like 18/20 but we didn't mind this at all. The route is quite steep on the way back but Dubrovnik is built into a slope, so I dare say this is pretty unavoidable for property here.

  What could be improved: Although the property claims to be a 10-minute walk away, it actually takes 20 minutes. The walk downhill is pleasant, but the return trip is less enjoyable.
  The balcony door was broken and wouldn't close completely, making us a bit worried about leaving our belongings behind.

  What could be improved: Location was very beautiful but even though it seemed close to the old town, it was difficult to walk there and especially return. Public transportation was also not convenient at all, so we had to take Uber all the time.

  Lokalita blizko centra mesta, milí hostitelia vždy ochotní nám pomôcť. Skvelá komunikácia.
  Byt bol čistý a moderne zariadený, zodpovedal popisu, ktorý ponúkal krásny výhľad na more. Ak ešte navstívime Dubrovník, tak toto ubytovanie bude určite jediná voľba. 🙂

  Instant welkomgevoel! Bij aankomst fles water in frigo, koekjes op het aanrecht. Alles was aanwezig voor vaat, was en plas. Al vaak gereisd en nergens zo een goed uitgerust appartement gehad. Kussens, beddengoed, handdoeken, vaattabletten, afwasmiddel, waspods inbegrepen. In de keuken koffie, zout, peper, olie, … beschikbaar.
  Een aangenaam, knus en net appartement met geweldig zeezicht en ook zicht op de oude stad. Locatie slechts 12 minuten wandelen van de oude stad!
  Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame verhuurster. Anita was op elk moment bereikbaar en gaf ons steeds onmiddellijk de gepaste feedback.
  We hebben genoten van ons verblijf, zeker een aanrader!
