You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Sea view apartment Azure on Dubska street honestly surprised me. I mean, Lapad isn’t exactly where most tourists think to look – it’s sort of tucked away from the Old Town chaos, about a 15-minute bus ride or casual walk along the coast. But that’s actually what makes this place special.

The apartment itself is on the first floor (which is what Europeans call the second floor, just so you know), and when they say “sea view,” they’re not kidding around. From the moment you walk in, there’s this gorgeous sweep of the Adriatic that just… well, it makes you want to grab a coffee and just stare for a while. The 9.7 rating makes sense once you’re there – everything feels thoughtfully put together without being fussy about it. The kitchen actually has proper equipment (not those sad hotel kitchenettes), which is great if you want to hit the local market and make breakfast with fresh figs and Croatian cheese. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe but it’s not sterile – there are nice touches like local artwork and really good linens that make it feel homey.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Lapad has this residential feel where locals actually live, so you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM like you would closer to Stradun. The neighborhood has these great little konobas (taverns) where you can get proper peka or black risotto without the tourist markup. There’s also a decent beach just a short walk down – nothing fancy, but the water’s crystal clear and it’s where Dubrovnik families go on weekends. Parking can be a bit tricky around there (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in Dubrovnik), but the hosts seem to know the area well and can point you toward spots that aren’t obvious to visitors. The bus connection to Old Town is pretty reliable too – route 6 runs frequently and drops you right at Pile Gate. During summer it gets packed, but shoulder season? You’re golden. I’d definitely come back here, especially if I wanted to feel less like a tourist and more like I was actually staying somewhere real.
