Look, I’ll be straight with you about Seagulls Blue Bay Apartments – it’s one of those places that quietly does everything right without making a big fuss about it. Tucked away on Mljetska ulica (which honestly, most tourists never even notice), you’re actually in this perfect sweet spot where you can walk to the Old Town in about 15 minutes, but you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at 7 AM. The building itself has that Mediterranean apartment vibe – you know, white walls, blue shutters, nothing fancy but clean and welcoming. What really got me was how the staff just… knew things. Like, they didn’t just hand me a tourist map and send me off. The woman at reception told me exactly when to hit the city walls to avoid the worst crowds (early morning, by the way) and which konoba down the street actually serves locals, not just tourists.

The apartments themselves are bigger than you’d expect for the price point – I mean, we’re talking about Dubrovnik here, where a shoebox costs a fortune. Mine had this little balcony that caught the morning sun perfectly, and honestly, having that space to spread out after walking the marble streets all day was everything. The kitchen’s basic but functional, which matters because eating out for every meal in Dubrovnik will bankrupt you faster than you can say “black risotto.” There’s a Konzum grocery store maybe five minutes away, and the local market with actual fresh produce is just a bit further. The WiFi actually works (shocking, I know), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, which… well, you’d be surprised how rare that is in some Croatian apartments.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood feel. You’ve got actual Dubrovnik residents living their lives around you – kids playing in the small park nearby, old men playing chess outside the café on the corner, women hanging laundry from their windows. It’s real life, not some sanitized tourist bubble. The 8.3 rating makes complete sense because it’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s trying to be a comfortable, honest place to stay while you explore one of the world’s most beautiful cities. And you know what? It succeeds. The only minor downside is that if you’re the type who needs room service and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, comfortable base with character, reasonable prices (for Dubrovnik standards), and that authentic neighborhood feeling, Seagulls Blue Bay gets it right. Plus, when you’re stumbling home after too much Croatian wine, being away from the main tourist drag is actually a blessing.

    Amazing view from balcony.
    Clean modern apartment.

    What could be improved: Access to the apartment by way of circa 100 steps which prove difficul to negotiate particularly in the hot weather. Would not have booked it if I knew this beforehand.
    Showerdoors broken causing a water issue when showering.
    No broom in the apartment so unable to sweep floors.
    Electricity went off for 2 hours on 2nd day. Response time from host could be quicker.

    Bardzo ładny widok, apartament czysty dobrze wyposażony dokupiliśmy patelnię i kieliszki do wina🥂😜 mam nadzieję że następne gości skorzystają z tego.

    What could be improved: Lokalizacja nie jest zła ale dla młodych z dobrą kondycją gości. Apartament znajduję się w wąskiej ulice. Taxi nie dojedzie.Nie woobrażam jak by mieliśmy duże walizki. Z górnej ulicy do apartamentu około 150 schodów nie do końca wygodnych na dół około 130. Pod czas naszego pobytu była zrobiona porecz co ułatwiło schodzenie do miasta.

    Hieno näkymä parvekkeelta venesatamaan, palvelut kohtalaisen lähellä, yksi tehokas ilmastointilaite asunnossa.

    What could be improved: Suihku ammeessa, huoneisto kaipaisi hieman päivittämistä, vain yksi avain käytettävissä, asunto ei sovi huonojalkaisille, koska perille ei pääse autolla ja lähimmältä parkkipaikalta paljon portaita kiivettävänä. Aluksi emme saaneet isäntäväeltä vastauksia bookingin kautta. Lopulta toki onnistui. Asunto sijaitsee lähellä venesatamaa, mutta huomioitavaa, että matkaa esimerkiksi vanhaan kaupunkiin on hellesäässä pitkähkö.

    Die Wohnung gefällt uns gut und ist auch gute Verbindung zur Altstadt oder zum Meer. Auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Alles top!

    What could be improved: Ich habe Rückenprobleme. Das Sofa und das Bett sind sehr schlecht. Ich empfehle nur neue zu kaufen.

    Abbiamo soggiornato in gruppo, usufruendo di due appartamenti, ottimamente collegati. Entrambi sono dotati di tutti i confort e una stupenda vista sul mare di Dubrovnik.
    Gli appartamenti sono risultati puliti, confortevoli, dotati di tutti gli strumenti utili in cucina e non solo. Quello al piano superiore è una mansarda, quindi poteva risultare scomodo spostarsi all'interno a causa dell'altezza, ma il tutto era compensato dalla buona vivibilità nello stesso.
    L'host è stato molto accogliente e disponibile, prontamente ha risolto un problema che si era presentato.

    What could be improved: Purtroppo il paese è sviluppato in altezza, quindi sono presenti scale ovunque: anche per raggiungere l'appartamento bisogna salire svariate rampe di scale. Inoltre è difficile trovare parcheggio, ma questi sono problemi tipici del luogo, non della struttura in sè.

    Świetna lokalizacja do zwiedzania Dubrownika na pieszo (przy nowym porcie), przejście na starówkę zajmuje ok. 40-45 min, co dla rodziny z nastolatkami nie stanowiło żadnego problemu (dużo schodów! ale dla nas był to dodatkowy urok tego miejsca) – trzeba mieć dobrą kondycję 🙂 Od strony apartamentu można się wspiąć na szczyt i dojść na górę Srdź – wspaniałe widoki! Piękny widok z balkonu w czasie śniadań i wieczornego odpoczynku. Bardzo dobra relacja jakość-cena. Apartament idealny dla 5-osobowej rodziny (2 sypialnie: w pierwszej dwa łóżka pojedyncze, a w drugiej łóżko małżeńskie i łóżko pojedyncze+salon+wyposażona kuchnia). Bezproblemowy dojazd komunikacją publiczną z lotniska (autobusy nr 11 i 27, niestety rzadko jeżdżą). Bardzo miły właściciel. Nasza rodzina wróciła bardzo zadowolona z pobytu – polecamy!
