You know what caught me off guard about Serendipity DubrOvniK CentrE? The name’s a bit all over the place (clearly someone got creative with the capitalization), but honestly, this little 3-star spot delivers way more than you’d expect for the price point. I mean, finding decent accommodation in Dubrovnik that doesn’t completely drain your wallet is tough enough, but throw in actual free parking – and I’m talking real parking, not some sketchy side-street situation – and you’ve got something special.

The location on Ulica Ivana Matijaševića is actually brilliant if you know the area. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the Old Town walls, which sounds far until you realize you’re dodging most of the cruise ship crowds that clog up the closer hotels. Plus, there’s this great little bakery two blocks down that locals hit up for morning burek – the kind of spot you’d never find if you were staying right in the tourist zone. The rooms themselves are pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but they’re clean and the AC actually works (trust me, in July that matters more than marble bathrooms). I stayed in a room facing the courtyard and it was blissfully quiet, though I heard from other guests that the street-facing ones can get a bit noisy during morning rush hour.

What really won me over was the staff – they actually seem to care about helping you figure out the city rather than just pushing expensive tours. The front desk guy (wish I remembered his name) gave me this whole rundown about which buses to take to avoid the crowds at Lokrum Island, and he was spot-on. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid – fresh bread, local cheese, decent coffee – and they don’t rush you out the door. I actually ended up chatting with a German couple there for like an hour about hidden beaches along the coast. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury, everything just… works. The WiFi’s reliable, the shower has good pressure, and honestly, after spending your days exploring those incredible city walls and swimming in the crystal-clear Adriatic, you really just need a comfortable bed and that free parking so you can easily explore places like Cavtat or the Elaphiti Islands. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real people actually live, not just another tourist processing center.

  The outdoor gr floor PATIO … is shaded & quiet – in sharp contrast to the busy, noisy Old Town.

  Walk to old town is not far but is all downhill. So coming back, keep in mind it's all uphill. With the pull out, there's room for four people. Having a set parking space is like gold in the neighborhood.

  What could be improved: The wifi was extremly slow. I think the modem is located in other building, cause the signal was low in everywhere in the apartment. Fortunateĺly we had plenty of mobile data.
