Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and Studio Apartment Lumia honestly surprised me. You know how most “studio apartments” in touristy areas are basically glorified hotel rooms with a hot plate shoved in the corner? This isn’t that. When I first walked in, I actually thought I’d been upgraded – the space feels way more generous than you’d expect, and there’s this nice separation between the sleeping area and the little kitchen setup that makes it feel like, well, an actual apartment.

The location is what really gets me though. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the Old Town, but somehow they managed to find a spot that doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping inside a fishbowl. During the day you’ll hear the usual tourist chatter drifting up from the streets below, but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you awake – more like a pleasant hum that reminds you you’re in the middle of something special. And honestly, once evening hits and the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships, it gets surprisingly peaceful. The building itself has that beautiful Dubrovnik stone that stays cool even when it’s blazing hot outside, which is a godsend in summer.

What I really appreciate is that they’ve kept the character of the place intact while making it actually functional for travelers. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market at Gundulić Square (it’s like a three-minute walk), and the bathroom – well, let’s just say I’ve seen way worse in much more expensive places. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. There’s proper storage space, good lighting for those inevitable “getting ready to walk the walls” moments, and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the whole apartment, not just in one corner. One thing to note though – like most Old Town places, there are stairs involved, so if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, just mentally prepare yourself for that. But honestly, once you’re settled in and you step outside to grab your morning coffee at one of the little cafés nearby, you’ll forget all about lugging that suitcase up. The whole experience just feels more authentic than staying in one of those big hotels outside the walls – you’re not just visiting Dubrovnik, you’re actually living in it for a few days.

Reviews

  • Lovely studio in central Dubrovnik – Maria-l from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (10/10)

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The location is absolutely perfect—close to everything we needed and in a lovely, quiet area. The place itself was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have needed during our visit. Communication with the owner was excellent—quick, clear, and helpful from start to finish. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!

What could be improved: Our first contact with an agent was not a positive experience. However, this didn’t have anything to do with the owner. The owner was unaware of the bad management of the property and their reaction when I let them know was very positive.
