Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked into studio apartment vicelic, I actually felt like I was staying in someone’s carefully curated home rather than just another tourist rental. It’s tucked away on Antuninska ulica – honestly, you’ll probably walk past it twice before you spot the entrance, but that’s part of its charm. The whole setup is refreshingly simple: a clean, well-thought-out studio that doesn’t try to be something it’s not.

The location is where this place really shines, though. I mean, you’re literally in Old Town, which sounds obvious until you realize how many “Old Town” listings are actually a sweaty 15-minute uphill trek from anything interesting. Here, you can stumble out the door and be at Rector’s Palace in about three minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that. The narrow stone streets around there stay pretty quiet at night too, which is a blessing since some areas near Stradun can get rowdy with the bar crowds. What I loved most was hearing the morning sounds drift through the windows: shopkeepers opening up, that particular echo of footsteps on ancient stone, the distant clatter of delivery trucks navigating impossibly narrow streets.

The actual apartment feels bigger than you’d expect from the photos – there’s something about the way they’ve arranged everything that maximizes the space without making it feel cramped. The little kitchenette is actually functional (shocking, I know), and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these old buildings. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices, and the whole place stays surprisingly cool even during those brutal July afternoons when the limestone streets outside feel like pizza ovens. Check-in was smooth too – no awkward key-exchange meetings at random cafes or anything like that. One thing though: if you’re planning to rent a car, forget about it. Parking anywhere near Old Town is basically a expensive nightmare, but you really don’t need a car anyway. The whole point is wandering around on foot, getting pleasantly lost in the maze of alleyways, and stumbling onto hidden restaurants that don’t have English menus but serve the best black risotto you’ve ever tasted. That 9.1 rating makes total sense to me – this isn’t luxury, but it’s exactly what you want: a clean, comfortable base that gets out of your way and lets Dubrovnik be the star of the show.

Reviews

  • Quiet and nice room amongst bars and restaurants in the middle of historic town. – Sara from Norway – 23 June 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is in the middle of the old town, right among the lovely streets and alleys. The bed was comfortable, clean and neat room and bathroom. It was quiet even though the apartment was close to restaurants and bars. The host was extremely helpful and nice.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Great location and great facility. – Raymond from Canada – 11 June 2025 (9/10)

Location is great inside the old Dubrovnik town.
Very well equipped and great communication

What could be improved: If you have a car and heavy luggage it will be a challenge as there’s a lot of stairs. However it’s manageable and worth it to be so close to the old city

  • Lovely place, right in the heart of old town. – Faith from United States – 26 May 2025 (10/10)

The location was great, right in the old town. We had access to free parking but make sure you request it upon booking. Parking is about 15 minutes walk from the property. The windows sealed well so our room was quiet. The ceilings were very tall so the place felt spacious. Nice old building, but the facilities (bathroom, kitchenette) are newly renovated.

What could be improved: This was fine for us, but be aware that there are many, many steps. Getting bags from the parking is challenging, so make sure you're up for it. Our room had a loft, so there were about 10 steps up to the bathroom. If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you.

  • Host was very helpful. Location is excellent, room is soacious with well equipped kitchen . – Rebecca from United States – 21 May 2025 (9/10)

Location was excellent. Room was clean, modern, very nice.
Great place to rest in between sight seeing and very quiet at night. Host was very helpful and easily available. Highly recommend.

What could be improved: The window is opaque so you cannot look outside, but this seems necessary for privacy. You can open for fresh air.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment! It is perfectly located in the old town of Dubrovnik. The bed is really great and the small kitchen is perfect for making a quick breakfast, the bathroom is also very nice and perfectly clean. Contact with our host was very easy and he made sure we had everything we needed!
