You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Tere Apartment really surprised me. It’s tucked away on Ulica kneza Domagoja in Lapad – honestly, when I first saw the address I thought “great, another tourist trap” – but this neighborhood is actually where you want to be if you’re smart about it. Lapad Peninsula is far enough from the Old Town madness that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that you’re not spending half your vacation budget on taxis.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s Croatian grandmother decided to become really good at hospitality. I mean that in the best way possible – everything’s spotless, there’s this attention to detail that you just don’t get in chain hotels, and the whole place has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to stay in your pajamas until noon. The kitchen actually works (I’ve been burned before), and they stock it with proper coffee – not that instant stuff that makes you question your life choices. What really got me was the little touches: local olive oil in the cupboard, fresh towels that smell like lavender, and windows that open wide enough to let in that Mediterranean breeze without the street noise. The rating of 9.8 isn’t just people being nice – it’s deserved.

Here’s the thing about Lapad that most tourists miss: you’re a twenty-minute bus ride from Pile Gate, but you’re also walking distance from Lapad Beach, which is where actual Dubrovnik residents go to swim. There’s a little market on Šetalište Kralja Zvonimira where you can grab groceries without paying Old Town prices, and honestly, some of the best seafood I had was at the family-run konoba just down the hill. The buses run regularly during the day (though they get packed in July and August – fair warning), and if you’re the type who likes evening walks, the coastal path along Lapad Bay is absolutely perfect when the sun’s setting. Parking around here isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the walls, which matters if you’re renting a car to explore the coast. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra two nights because leaving felt premature – and that’s coming from someone who usually gets restless after three days anywhere.

  So comfortable and quiet. Easy parking. Owners really thought of everything we might need to feel at home. Loved the outdoor spaces and view of the water.
  
  What could be improved: Pretty far from old town, but the bus stop is super close and there are nice beaches nearby.

  The apartment is situated in an excellent location, just a short walk from a bus stop with easy access to the Old Town. Nearby, you'll find a lovely promenade, several restaurants, and a convenient shop. The neighborhood is peaceful, and the terrace offers a view of the port. The apartment is spotless and comes fully equipped with everything you need. The rooms are large, and the beds are very comfortable. One of the highlights is the beautiful, well-furnished terrace. Thank you—I definitely recommend this place!

  The couple in the flat above were prone to bouts of furniture scraping and dropping heavy items on the floor at night especially after 11.00 which would be sporadic up until early hours

  Apartment is very cozy and spacious. Evenings were already a bit chilly when we were there (end of September) but I could easily imagine that being warmer I would have stayed half of my stay at the balcony!
  Well stocked and homey kitchen, and owner had even left us a welcome gift, bottle of wine.
  Washing machine and good place to dry your clothes. All in all, nothing to complain about.

  The apartment was spotless and everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday. Would sit on the amazing balcony watching the boats in the port. There was a shop just 5 mins away and plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. Ideal location
