Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and honestly? This one gets it right in ways that surprised me. The name “The best view in Dubrovnik!” sounds like tourist trap marketing, but I mean… they’re not wrong. When you’re standing on that terrace looking out over the Adriatic with the old town walls stretched out below you, you sort of understand why they went with the obvious name.

The location in Ploče is actually perfect if you know the area – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Pile Gate, but you’re far enough up the hill that you escape most of the cruise ship crowds that flood Stradun during the day. I stayed here in July (yeah, I know, peak season mistake) and while the old town was absolutely packed, walking back to the hotel felt like retreating to this quiet pocket where locals actually live. The address puts you right near that little neighborhood market where you can grab breakfast pastries that cost a fraction of what you’d pay down in the tourist zone. Pro tip: the woman who runs it makes incredible burek, and she’s there every morning by 7 AM.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Dubrovnik feel without skimping on comfort. The rooms have this perfect balance – you’ve got modern amenities (the AC actually works, thank god) but they haven’t stripped away all the character with some generic renovation. The stone walls are real, the shutters are the traditional green you see all over the old neighborhoods, and honestly, the whole place just feels… right. You know what I mean? Some hotels try so hard to be “authentic” that they end up feeling like a theme park, but this one actually feels like someone’s well-appointed home that happens to have incredible views.

The staff clearly knows their stuff too – not just the usual tourist recommendations, but actual local insight. When I mentioned wanting to avoid the crowds at the city walls, the guy at reception told me about the back entrance near the Maritime Museum that hardly anyone uses. Little things like that make a huge difference when you’re trying to experience Dubrovnik like a human being rather than cattle being herded through photo ops.

I will say the walk up from the old town can be a bit of a workout, especially if you’ve been indulging in all that excellent Croatian wine, but honestly? It’s worth it to wake up to that view every morning. And if you’re really not feeling the climb, the local bus stops right at the corner – most tourists don’t even realize it exists. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine local neighborhood vibes, legitimate comfort, and probably the best sunrise views in the city for the price point of a solid 4-star place. Just book early if you’re planning a summer visit – word’s getting out about this one.

  Everything was outstanding. Super cool place with everything you want to recharge and enjoy. Amazing view of course, but the little extras were what takes this over the top. Nice for cooking, bathrooms were amazing, clean, comfortable, and a really fun TV that our family of 4 (kids are teens) loved. Lastly, our host was awesome.

  The view is absolutely spectacular! The host was great and gave us clear instructions to check-in. Parking for the most part was okay. We had two cars and there was only road parking. There were times where we had to park down the road but not too far. The rooms were clean and had everything we need. We even ran out of coffee pods and the hosts dropped some off for us. We loved the fact we had a washing machine and full kitchen as we made breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend staying here!
  
  What could be improved: One of the rooms didn't have AC but was able to open the windows for a cool breeze. I would say the stairs were absolute killer. One the way down was such a breeze – the way up different story. It was excellent exercise. Honestly everywhere in Dubrovnik there are stairs so we didn't mind.

  The view on balcony is amazing, all furniture and decoration of the room look very high class and new, and it is not far from the ancient city, 20 minutes walk.
  
  What could be improved: The hot water is only sufficient for 3.5 people, heating takes 3 hours. No instruction about the switch of the boiler. No one will help you if you have any trouble with the facilities in the apartment. Check out time is at 10 which is shorter as any other accommodations I stayed. The host is quite cold.

  The apartment is amazing. Three bedrooms plus a large living room. The balcony was appreciated, with a beautiful view of Lokrum island, the sea, and the old town further to the right. The apartment is close to the street where we parked the car, so getting the luggage is easy. But walking to the city meant to go down 194 steps + ~700 meters on a street. It is the preferred way, as parking may be expensive down there. 15 min walk to the city, 20-25 back. The view from the apartment is well worth climbing the stairs back, amazing to have some drinks at night on the terrace.
  Everything feels like new in the apartment, air conditioning in every room, spotless clean.
  There is no private parking. Parking is free though, on the street. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, not so many apartments or people, mostly tourists.
  We did not get to meet the owner, as she had a totally understandable reason not to meet us that day, but communication on WhatsApp was more than enough for everything we needed.
